Ariana Grande slams body-shaming trolls criticizing her weight as she appears on Charli XCX’s new album

ARIANA Grande has clapped back at cruel body-shaming trolls in lyrics on Charlie XCX’s new album.

The 365 hitmaker, 32, has collaborated with pop princess Ariana, 31, who will soon star in the new Wicked movie, on the remix of her track, Sympathy Is A Knife.

Ariana‘s cameo came after she was forced to deny undergoing “fox eye” cosmetic surgery in a lie detector test.

She has also been called out over her recent apparent “voice change” as well as sparking concern as fans branded her “unrecognizable” after her weight loss.

In the second verse of Charli XCX’s track, Ariana chants out: “It’s a knife when you know they’re counting on your mistakes. It’s a knife when you’re so pretty, they think you must be fake.”

She continues: “It’s a knife when they dissect your body on the front page. It’s a knife when they won’t believe you, why should you explain?”

The Dangerous Woman hitmaker then adds: “It’s a knife when the mean fans hate the nice fans. When somebody says, ‘Ari, I think you’ve totally changed’.”

Ariana continued to sing: “When somebody says they like the old me and not the new me. And I’m like, ‘Who the f**k is she?’”

FAN FEAR

In 2023, the Breathin’ songstress’ appearance in her new TikTok video had fans baffled and concerned for her health.

The former Voice coach looked noticeably paler and even more petite than normal.

Not to mention her famed thick dark brunette hair and eyebrows were colored a honey blonde.

Ariana seemingly blamed her drastic change on her new makeup routine in her TikTok caption.

Yet in another video, she opened up directly on the fan criticism.

“I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to,” she explained in another clip.

“I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what.

Ariana Grande’s Movie Roles

Ariana Grande has bagged a starring role in Wicked, set to be released in November 2024, but it’s not her first time on the big screen.

Zoolander 2 – Ariana’s first movie acting role after a couple of voice credits came in 2016.

Men in Black: International – In 2019, the star played an alien in the Chris Hemsworth film.

Don’t Look Up – 2021 saw Ariana play Riley Bina – a pop star – in the apocalypse comedy.

“There are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful. I know personally, for me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body.

“I was on a lot of antidepressants, and drinking on them, and eating poorly, and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy.

“But that, in fact, wasn’t my healthy.

“I guess I just wanted to extend some love your way and tell you that you’re beautiful, no matter what phase you’re in.

“No matter what you’re going through, no matter what weight, how you like to do your makeup these days, no matter what cosmetic procedures you’ve had or not, or anything.

“I just think you’re beautiful and wanted to share some feelings.”

OPENING UP

Despite denying having a nose job, Brazilian Butt Lift and Fox Eye surgery in a lie-detector for Vanity Fair this month, Ariana has spoken candidly about her beauty procedures.

The 7 Rings singer admitted to Vogue in September last year: “Full transparency, as a beauty person, as I do my lips, I’ve had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox.

“I stopped in 2018 because I just felt so… too much. I just felt like hiding, you know.

“I didn’t expect to get emotional. For a long time, beauty was about hiding for me, and now I feel like maybe it’s not since I stopped getting fillers and Botox.

“Maybe I’ll start again one day. I don’t know. To each their own.

“Whatever makes you feel beautiful, I do support.”
