A drug-addicted Peeping Tom fell from the roof of a cake shop in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok while trying to evade arrest. Officers found 184 methamphetamine pills, also known as Yaba, in his possession.
The staff of a cake shop, called Cake Foo, contacted officers from the Chaiyaphruek Police Station at about 10pm after a female worker noticed a man peeping at her while she was taking a shower. A part of the shop was also used as accommodation for the workers, and three female employees were staying there.
Upon arrival, police spotted the Peeping Tom, later identified as 30 year old Sakda “Yai” Khemjaroon, on the roof of the cake shop. He refused to surrender and fled to the roof of a nearby shop.
Luck was not on Yai’s side, as he unexpectedly fell onto a lower roof of the store, and his leg became trapped in the damaged roof. Police surrounded the shop and successfully convinced Yai to turn himself in. Yai agreed to let police retrieve him from the damaged roof and accompany them to the police station.
Officers searched Yai but found no illegal items or weapons. They then searched his motorcycle and discovered 184 Yaba tablets in the storage compartment under the motorcycle seat. Equipment used for housebreaking and theft was also found in his possession. Police took Yai to a hospital for a drug test, which returned positive.
A worker from the shop next to Cake Foo premises told Channel 3 that Yai previously tried to drill through the roof of her store ten days before this recent incident but failed in his mission.
This time, Yai successfully drilled through the roof of the Cake Foo shop and entered the premises to peek into the bathroom. When the victim noticed, Yai escaped through the roof but was eventually caught.
Staff from both shops believed Yai mainly intended to steal valuables and cash from their shops. They felt safer after Yai’s arrest but were still concerned that he did not commit the crime alone and that his accomplices might return to carry out their criminal plans.
