It all starts with Google, according to what personal finance expert and TikToker Marie (@makemoneywithmarie084) noted in a recent video.
Marie explained that using Google or similar platforms can help you get involved in online marketing, and it’s “simpler than it sounds.”
The personal finance expert found three approaches as the easiest and most profitable — affiliate marketing, digital marketing, and “done-for-you” digital marketing.
The “done-for-you” marketing approach was what Marie recommended highest.
It simply involves buying products that are already made but have resell rights, allowing you to sell those items again and make 100% of the return on every sale.
“Done-For-You digital marketing is completely LEGAL because of something called MRR (master resell rights),” Marie noted in the caption of her post.
“When MRR is attached to a product, the moment you buy it, it legally becomes yours and you can sell it as your own, as many times as you like, for 100% profit.”
“This made me over $1,500 before I woke up today,” she claimed.
PROFIT POTENTIAL
Marie added that as she got comfortable and more knowledgeable with the side hustle, she would make around $10,000 in three days.
For 2023, the personal finance expert said she brought in around $850,000.
That’s a highly successful year, but to get those numbers, Marie likely quit her full-time position and devoted all of her attention to “done-for-you” digital marketing.
To get started, she recommended viewers first use Google to discover what the “most profitable niche” is in 2024.
That would help them find a product to buy, resell, and promote through “valuable 5-7sec vids” on social media.
The other two approaches she mentioned also offer benefits.
Side hustles and tax implications
Extra income you make from side hustles may need to be reported to the IRS.
If you receive more than $600 in gross payouts from a selling platform like eBay, the site will issue you a Form 1099-K to use in your tax return.
Individuals should calculate their adjusted gross income, taxable earnings, and deductions for the year.
Once they have that, they can use the 1040-ES form to calculate estimated taxes.
AFFILIATE ADVANTAGE
Affiliate marketing is an incredibly popular side hustle in 2024.
It involves working with a company to help promote their merchandise in exchange for a commission for each sale.
Marie recommended that those interested find a product area niche and focus on it before working with a company through Google, ClickBank, or DigiStore24.
It also helps to have a stronger social following of over 1,000 followers.
You’ll start making consistent promotional clips or posts using an affiliate link provided by the company, and every sale through the use of that link earns a commission (typically around 10%).
Arguably, the best parts of affiliate marketing are that you don’t have to handle any logistics, shipping, or personal responsibility for the products.
You promote it, and that’s it.
DIGITAL RESPONSIBLITY
Standard digital marketing is more involved.
You’d have to create your products, find a platform to sell them through, ship them, vouch for their quality, handle returns — the whole gambit.
However, you’d still get to keep 100% of the sales.
The decision between the marketing approaches will likely depend on your time requirements and personal preferences.
Any of them provides the opportunity to make some serious money with some effort, dedication, and consistency.
