AS more banks close throughout the UK, withdrawing cash at your convenience is not as easy as it once was.
‘Super ATMs’ have been trialled to help counter the effects of bank closures.
Most withdrawals are from free-to-use machines, but some will charge you.
The limit for contactless card payments has now risen to £100 which has seen a drop off in how much people use ATMs.
Plus, plenty of people are still hesitant about handling notes after coronavirus restrictions discouraged us for health reasons.
But now that the pandemic has passed, many of us may feel comfortable using cash again.

How much can you withdraw from a bank ATM?
Lloyds and Halifax
At Lloyds and Halifax, you can withdraw up to £800 a day.
The maximum amount of cash you can withdraw over a branch counter at Halifax is £2,500.
However, if you pre-order the cash you can take out more money over the counter from both Halifax and Lloyds.
Nationwide
For most Nationwide accounts the maximum amount you can withdraw per day is £300 at an ATM, but you can get up to £500 in a branch. If you want to withdraw more than £2,000 from Nationwide, the branch will need at least a full working days notice.
Barclays
The bank states the withdrawal limit depends on what type of account you have, how much is in it and whether you have an arranged overdraft.
Customers with personal current accounts (including Cash Card accounts) can take out up to £300 per day from an ATM, while Premier and Platinum accounts can take out up to £1,000 per day.
Barclays Business accounts can take out up to £750 per day and BarclayPlus account holders can withdraw up to £50 per day.
There is no limit on the amount of money you can withdraw from a Barclays branch counter.
However, if you want to withdraw more than £2,000, you should give 24 hours’ notice so that the money is ready for you to collect.
NatWest and RBS
How much you can withdraw if you bank with NatWest or RBS depends on the account you have.
Holders of Student, Graduate, Savings or Adapt accounts can all withdraw £250 a day.
Foundation, Select, Reward, Silver or Platinum account holders can take out up to £300.
If you have a Black account, the limit is £750 a day.
For large cash withdrawals, you should give 24 hours’ notice, especially for amounts over £2,000 when visiting a branch.
TSB
Regardless of what account you have, the limit for withdrawals from TSB is a maximum of £500 each day.
Santander
With Santander you can withdraw cash up to £300 a day from an ATM, with a maximum of five withdrawals per day.
If you have a Santander Select Current Account, you can withdraw £1,000 in a single day.
HSBC
If you have a HSBC bank account the limit is £300, while HSBC Advance accounts can withdraw £500.
If you have HSBC Premier, it’s £1,000.

Tesco
The daily ATM withdrawal limit for a Tesco Bank Instant Access Savings Account is £300.
You can also withdraw money from your bank account by using online banking or the telephone banking service.
Sainsbury’s
With Sainsbury’s bank the daily ATM withdrawal limit is £300, including any fees charged by the cash machine operator.
You can use your card and PIN at any cash machine with the LINK symbol.
Co-op
The Co-operative Bank holds a £250 per day limit for all debit card holders, excluding Cashminder and student accounts.
However, this limit can be increased to £500 in £10 increments by contacting the bank.
