Lunchly, a well-accepted snack kit launched by the YouTuber trio of Mr. Beast, Logan Paul, and KSI, is in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Things turned even worse after a picture of an FDA sign stating the discontinuation of the popular snack-kit brand Lunchly went viral on social media.
Many people believed it to be true and this provoked a fact-check video by one of the co-owners, Logan Paul, in which he dismissed the rumours associated with the brand being withdrawn or discontinued.
Earlier, there was another video in which a customer alleged that moldy cheese was found in the packaged meal.
The popular influencer Rosanna Pansino was doing a product review when she discovered moldy cheese in the lunch kit.
The FDA in a statement said that it had received 10 complaints about Lunchly, and one of the complaints was related to an illness.
However, the picture that has since gone viral about recalling Lunchly products prompted many to react on social media.
Influencer Rosanna Pansino took to X and said, “Are Lunchly’s being discontinued? Was just sent this photo that appears to show a Kroger store has the Lunchly Turkey Stack ‘Ems marked as Discontinued.”
Another user on X said, “Lunchly being discontinued is a big win for child nutrition.”
A third user stated on X, “So stores are starting to discontinue Lunchly,” added, formerly known as Twitter.
What is the truth?
The brand’s co-owner Logan Paul cleared the air with a fact-checking video where he negated the news that the brand was recalled or discontinued.
Paul added that he had traced the source of the rumour to a grocery stall staff who had written the note and posted it on social media after hearing rumours of a recall.
The worker later realized that it was a false rumour and took down the post.
Logan Paul also stated, “USDA inspects every finished food lot and approves it before even leaving (Lunchly’s) facility.”
However, Paul also stated that problems can arise during transportation due to the breaking of seals or mishandling in stores.
Lunchly Better Than Others?
The company website describes the products and states, “(Lunchly) is changing the grab-and-go game with an innovative approach that prioritizes quality ingredients and delicious flavours.
We’re here to fuel your fun from the lunchroom to the breakroom by packing every (Lunchly) box with a PRIME Hydration and a Feastables Bar.”
The Lunchly kits include Nachos, Turkey Stack ’Ems, and Pizza. The website claims that it is much healthier since it has less sugar, more cheese, and fewer calories compared to its competitors.
Despite the claims, critics contend that its products are no better for kids compared to Lunchables or any other prepackaged meal.
