Williams could be suspended by the NFL after a warrant has been issued for his arrest on a gun charge, per a report by WXYZ-TV on Tuesday.

The NFL personal conduct policy states that players are subject to a possible suspension for conduct including “illegal possession of a gun or other weapon (such as explosives, toxic substances, and the like), or possession of a gun or other weapon in any workplace setting.”

On October 8, Williams was with his brother in a vehicle that was pulled over for speeding.

Police officers then found two guns in the car.

One of the guns was registered to Williams’ brother, the driver, and the other to Williams.

Williams didn’t have a concealed pistol license (CPL) and was facing a charge of carrying a concealed weapon in a motor vehicle.

He was briefly handcuffed and detained, but neither brother was arrested at the time of the incident.

However, last week, the Detroit Police Department submitted a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for Williams to be given a gun charge, per 7 News Detroit.

The NFL will likely issue discipline to Williams when the matter is resolved legally.

“The Lions promptly notified the league upon learning of the matter,” the league said in a statement.

“We have no further comment at this time.”

Williams could be suspended a third time.

Last year, he was suspended six games for violations of the NFL’s gambling policy.

And last week, Williams was suspended two games for a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing policy.

He was a first-round pick out of Alabama in 2022.

Williams missed most of his rookie campaign while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in college.

This season was supposed to be the 23-year-old’s breakout season for the Lions.

Williams recorded 121 yards in Week 1 and posted 365 yards in the first five games in his first five games.

He will serve the final game of his gambling suspension in Week 9 when Detroit faces the Green Bay Packers this Sunday.

Williams is set to return on November 10 against the Houston, with the gun charge possibly still pending.
