The dance is being dubbed ‘The Beckham Test’ but where did this new trend come from?
What is The Beckham Test?
The Beckham Test came about after the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham.
At the end of the heartwarming series, David puts the song on and Victoria started dancing.
She makes eye contact with her husband who makes his way over to her and immediately falls into step.
The romantic moment went viral and people in the comment sections suggested it should be a benchmark for other relationships.
TikTokers and celebrities started to put their unknowing partners up for the challenge.
To pass the Beckham Test, their other half has to channel David and start dancing with their ‘Victoria’.
What is the Beckham documentary?
Beckham was named the best sports documentary of all time after it was released in October last year.
By May it had been watched for over 208.5million hours across the world.
The show beat out stiff competition including Pele, Welcome to Wrexham and the hugely popular basketball documentary The Last Dance.
It followed the highs and lows of David’s football career as well as giving insight into his and Victoria’s marriage.
The England and Manchester United legend admitted it was “very difficult” filming the award-winning, four-part documentary.
He discussed his notorious red card against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup, as well as rumours of being unfaithful to Victoria.
The Hollywood Reporter quote Beckham as saying: “It was one of those things I knew if I was gonna make it, I was going make it once… it was really difficult.
