While many would say Travis Kelce is the best tight end on any football field, Gronk would disagree.
Instead, he gave his vote to San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle.
“It’s definitely George Kittle,” Gronk said.
“He’s leading the league in touchdown receptions at the tight end position.
“The whole focal point of the run game for the San Francisco 49ers is behind George Kittle.
“On top of it, he’s such a positive guy, he brings so much good juice to the locker room for the San Francisco 49ers.”
Kittle is having a spectacular season for the 49ers this year, likely on his way to a fourth-straight Pro Bowl selection.
So far this season he has 503 yards with six touchdowns. That is on pace for 1,221 yards and 14 touchdowns over a full season.
Kittle now has the third-most receiving yards in 49ers history, cementing him as one of the greatest players to ever put the jersey on.
“[I’m] just thankful that I got to be a part of an organization with a very high standard in how they play football,” Kittle said of the accomplishment.
“Thankful that they’ve kept me around for a long time and just every single day striving to be better than I was the before and continually prove that I need to be on the San Francisco 49ers roster.”
He had a great game on Sunday during “National Tight End Day,” pulling in 128 yards with a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
“He’s a warrior,” defensive end Nick Bosa said.
“There’s a lot of guys in this league who wouldn’t play through the things he plays through every year.
“And for him to play the best tight end in the league on national tight ends day while he’s battling things, just shows how much of a beast he is.”

Kittle isn’t just one of the best tight ends in football this year though, he is also one of the top receivers.

Thanks to his efforts, the 49ers are back to 4-4 after having a losing record to start the season.
They are tied for first place in the NFC west and are competing for a spot in the playoffs.
San Francisco doesn’t look as strong as they did last year, but there is still plenty of time for them to transform into Super Bowl contenders.
