Ambitious Northern Region Division One League side Scottland FC have been awarded three points and three goals following a ruling on their abandoned match against Karoi United in September.
The verdict saw Scottland leapfrogging MWOS FC to attain pole position on the log.
With one game to go, Scottland is now on 84 points, two ahead of MWOS who have 82 points.
Scottland and Karoi match was abandoned after the referee was attacked during the match and could not continue officiating after sustaining an injury.
As part of the ruling, Karoi United who were the home side on the day have been fined US$2,000 of which US$500 has been suspended.
“Karoi United is further fined a sum amount of US$2,000.00 of which USD$500.00 has been suspended on condition that Karoi United FC will not commit a similar offence in the coming soccer season.
“The suspended amount will be added to any determination where Karoi United FC is found guilty of bringing the game of football into disrepute.
“The decision is designed to ensure that future incidents of a similar nature will not occur and in the process protect the game of football,” read a press statement from the Northern Region Division One League.
Scottland FC owned by Mabvuku Tafara Member of Parliament and gold dealer Scott Sakupwanya has been making headlines for spoiling its players with match-winning bonuses as high as US$1500.00.
