Chhath Puja Date and Time
Chhath Puja will be celebrated from November 5 to November 8, this year.
November 5 (Tuesday) – Nahai Khay: On this day, devotees take a bath and wear new clothes and eat special food, which includes gourd vegetable and rice.
6 November (Wednesday) – Kharna: The devotees observe a day-long fast and prepare kheer and roti bhog after sunset. This day increases the strength of the devotees.
7th November (Thursday) – Sandhya Arghya: On this day, the setting sun is worshipped. On the time of sandhya arghya, devotees offer thekua, fruits, etc to the Sun God in a puja thali.
8th November (Friday) – Usha Arghya: The last day, Arghya is offered to the rising sun and then the fast is broken.
It has special puja materials that include fruits, thekua, and sugarcane. People worship the Sun God by standing in water while offering arghya to him. Chhath Puja is a festival where not only the religious gaiety takes place, but it also serves as an occasion for social congregation; here, families and communities get together to celebrate this festival.
