Drama in Court as Woman Demands US$100 Monthly Allowance as Compensation From Her Ex-boyfriend After Breakup

In a dramatic court dispute, a Harare woman is demanding a monthly compensation of US$100 from her ex-boyfriend following what she describes as a tumultuous two-year relationship.

Shamiso Zuze took her former partner, Givemore Gonye, to the Harare Civil Court, alleging he subjected her to both emotional and physical pain during their time together.

Zuze insisted that Gonye’s behavior warrants financial compensation.

Accusations of Infidelity and Disrespect

During her court appearance, Zuze alleged that Gonye regularly disrespected her by bringing other women into her home, which led to several confrontations.

According to H-Metro, during one incident, she claims to have caught him with another woman, sparking a physical altercation between herself and the alleged girlfriend.

He was in the habit of bringing different women to my house and I caught him in the act on one of the occasions, this triggered a scuffle between me and his other girlfriend.

He disrespected me,and I deserve compensation for the pain,” Zuze told the court, asserting that she deserves compensation for the pain caused.

Gonye Pushes Back, Accuses Zuze of Financial Manipulation

In his defense, Gonye claimed that Zuze has been making excessive financial demands, stating she regarded him as her primary source of income. He accused Zuze of blocking his attempts to end the relationship and even fabricating stories about his infidelity.

She has been demanding too much money from me and she told me I am her only source of income,” Gonye explained.

Gonye argued that Zuze had been unfaithful and refused to break up with him because he was giving her money.

“She has been blocking me from ending our relationship and forging lies that I brought women to her house.

She is the one who cheated with different men and refused to break up with me because I was giving her money,” Gonye remarked.

Peace Order Granted by the Court

After hearing both sides, Magistrate Judith Taruvinga issued a reciprocal peace order, instructing Zuze and Gonye to avoid further confrontations and maintain peace.

Both parties urged to respect each other’s boundaries.
