SHOPPERS are flocking to Costco to get their hands on a ‘Chick-fil-A dupe’ that they say tastes just as good at a fraction of the cost.
The frozen boneless chicken breast fillets, which are lightly breaded and fully cooked, are from Kirkland Signature.
Their products are “designed to be high-quality merchandise guaranteed by our suppliers to maintain Costco‘s reputation and member satisfaction.”
Foodies are claiming that these fillets are just like the fried chicken from the fast food chain Chick-fil-A.
One packet has about 10 servings, with each fillet weighing 138g and containing around 240 calories per serving, and costs $12.99.
In comparison, Chick-fil-A prices range from $3 to $18 depending on the meal you get.
And just like the fast food chain, these fillets don’t take long to cook either.
They need to be cooked from frozen and can be prepared in an air fryer, conventional oven, or microwave oven.
If shoppers want to cook them in the air fryer, it will take between 18 to 20 minutes, and the fillets need to be flipped after 12 minutes and again for the last two minutes.
In a conventional oven, they need to be baked for 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through.
In a microwave oven, the fillets take three minutes, and the plate needs to be rotated halfway through heating.
Foodies should let the chicken stand for one minute before serving.
One Costco shopper, known as @costcobuys on Instagram, shared a video of her find and wrote: “Check out these NEW Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Fillets!
“These Chick-fil-A dupes are GREAT for sandwiches, but also cut up in salads, as chicken parm, and SO much more! Get 3lbs total for $12.99.”
The video gained a lot of attention, with many rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “My son LOVES these and would eat them every day for every meal if I let him.” Another said: “With Kinders Chicken sauce.”
A third added: “These are way better than the Just Bare Fillets IMO. Our family uses these for just about any kind of dish.
Shoppers and foodies have praised Costco for their wholesale supply[/caption]
“Chicken sandwiches, Asian, chicken parm, etc. Picky eater kiddos approved!”
But not everyone approved, with one writing: “I love Costco with all my heart, but these are DEF NOT CFA dupes.
“These aren’t even as good as the Just Bare. Stay in your lane, Costco. I bought the nugget version of these and returned them. Yuck.”
Costco’s membership scanners
Costco has unveiled membership scanners at its store entrances.
In August 2024, the retailer released a statement about the scanners on its website.
“Over the coming months, membership scanning devices will be used at the entrance door of your local warehouse,” it wrote.
“Once deployed, prior to entering, all members must scan their physical or digital membership card by placing the barcode or QR Code against the scanner.
“Guests must also be accompanied by a valid member for entry.
“If you have any questions or concerns, there will always be an attendant at the door to assist you!
“If your membership is inactive, expired, or you would like to sign up for a new membership, the attendant will ask that you stop by the membership counter prior to entering the warehouse to shop.
“Additionally, if your membership card does not have a photo, please be prepared to show your valid photo ID.
“We encourage you to stop by the membership counter to have a photo taken to have on your card.”
