Simba Bhora secured its first Premier Soccer League title on Wednesday afternoon after beating relegated side Arenel Movers 1-0 at Luveve Stadium.
The victory saw the Shamva-based side securing the title with two league games to go.
Team captain Walter Musona scored the solitary goal which saw Simba Bhora collect 3 points, in a match they only needed a point to be confirmed champions.
Wednesday’s goal saw Musona taking his tally this season to 10 goals, five behind current Golden Boot race leader Lynoth Chikuhwa.
Simba Bhora has become the first team from Mashonaland Central to win a title in Premier Soccer League history, the third team outside Bulawayo and Harare to be crowned champions.
The Tonderai Ndiraya-led side will now face FC Platinum next at Wadzanai stadium, before travelling to Nyamhunga stadium for a date with ZPC Kariba on the last matchday.
At the present moment Simba Bhora is the only team yet to be defeated at home and a win or draw on Saturday against Pure Platinum Play will see the side ending its league campaign with an undefeated home record.
Promoted into the top-flight league last year, Simba Bhora will now represent Zimbabwe in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
