Walmart shopper goes home ‘with nothing’ after worker ‘refuses to finish order and walks off’ despite having full cart

A WALMART shopper has claimed she was forced to go home empty-handed after an unexpected encounter at the store.

The customer said she was checking out with a cart of groceries “piled high” when she was forced to evacuate the building.

She was unable to finish checking out – and was left baffled when the worker helping her “walked off”.

“Just spent an hour and a half at Walmart,” the customer wrote.

“My cart full of purchases are all piled on the counter.

“She’s ready to start checking me out and a fire alarm goes off and they evacuate the building!

“She refuses to finish my order and walks off! I’m quite sure it was bogus… no sign of issues anywhere. Grrr!!!”

The confused shopper added, “Going home with nothing.. but I probably saved a lot of money!!”

Many were quick to comment on the post, echoing the woman’s frustration.

“That’s Awful!! What happened to your order???” one person asked.

“Why wouldn’t it have been left in ‘Check-out’, where you left off?!”

“How Frustrating,” another said.

“I was there. Self-check came in handy,” someone else wrote.

“Finished my order did not see or smell fire.”

As part of Walmart’s safety procedures, workers are expected to “stop any task or activity if working conditions become unsafe”.

They should also “report the concern” and use “required personal protective equipment”.

According to guidelines employees should “be familiar with facility evacuation procedures, follow all applicable emergency response measures and never block or obstruct emergency exit doors or egress pathways”.

It comes as more than 4,000 Walmart stores are set to close on Thanksgiving, which falls on November 28 this year.

Bosses have allowed workers to have the day off to celebrate the holiday with their families.

This year will be the fifth consecutive year that supermarkets will be for the November celebration.

Walmart stores are expected to open at their normal hours the day before Thanksgiving and on Black Friday.
