BELLEVIEW, Fla. (WCJB) – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for the driver accused of crashing into a 12-year-old girl and leaving the scene.
Troopers say that around 4 p.m. Wednesday, a girl was walking on the shoulder of Southeast 36th Avenue (County Road 467) in Belleview, just south of 107th Place.
A vehicle, described by witnesses as a white 4-door pickup truck pulling a trailer, struck the child. The driver did not stop and continued east on 36th Avenue.
The victim suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Troopers are asking anyone with information about the driver to contact the FHP Regional Communications Center at 904-359-6572.
