FOXBORO — Patriots starting safety Kyle Dugger remained out of practice Thursday as he continues to deal with a lingering ankle injury.
Offensive tackle Caleb Jones, who is on the practice squad, was also absent Thursday. Running back JaMycal Hasty, who did not participate Wednesday with a personal question, returned.
Dugger has missed three games already this season with an ankle injury. With Jabrill Peppers on the commissioner’s waiver list, Marte Mapu, Jaylinn Hawkins and undrafted rookie Dell Pettus have taken on bigger roles at safety.
The Patriots play the Bears in Chicago on Sunday. Dugger looks unlikely to suit up in that game after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
