Hp Govt sets up Addiction and Rehabilitation Advisory Board | Shimla News

HP Government Establishes Addiction and Rehabilitation Advisory Board

Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Saturday that the state government set up a state-level advisory board for addiction and rehabilitation. Sukhu was speaking after flagging off the ‘Nasha Mukt Indora’ awareness rally at Indora in Kangra district.
The advisory board aims to streamline the activities of various departments that review abuse and would ensure a unified approach to address this issue, he said.
The board would promote coordination between the initiatives of different departments, which is expected to yield positive results.
The CM said the state government launched a campaign against the drug menace and took stringent action against the drug mafia in the last two months and arrested many involved. The state government is determined to eradicate the menace of drugs and save the younger generation from this social vice, he said.
Sukhu said such awareness campaigns play a vital role in eradicating and creating awareness against drug abuse. The CM also called for educating the youth about the harmful effects of drugs and ensuring active participation of all sections of the society in the fight against drug abuse.
Earlier in the day, the CM inaugurated the newly constructed Rs 4.32 crore PWD department office building in Indora and a Rs 7.72 crore bridge over Khwaji Khad on the Thakurdwara Paral to Bhogarwan road. He also inaugurated the fire station in Indora.
Sukhu also laid the foundation stone for a Rs 50 lakh divisional office building of HPSEBL in Indora, which is expected to be completed within a year. Health and Family Minister Col Dhani Ram Shandil (retd), Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar, among other dignitaries, were also present on the occasion.
