MICHAEL Strahan was interrupted by Terry Bradshaw after using a common phrase to describe the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Fox NFL Sunday duo had a laugh at their own wordplay – even if they disagreed on Patrick Mahomes and Co.
Strahan and Bradshaw were discussing the Chiefs‘ close wins during the 2024 season.
And Bradshaw insisted there was no need to be alarmed at the nature of some of their victories.
“There’s nothing wrong with winning games close,” Bradshaw insisted. I don’t care who you’re playing.
“In this league anybody can beat you.
“One thing about Kansas City is they know how to win.
“They can win, they know how to win and I don’t have a problem with them winning close games.”
Strahan had a different opinion and discussed the Chiefs’ apparent lucky victories.
“If you’re lucky or you’re good – sometimes I think it’s good to be lucky,” he said.
And that’s when Bradshaw interrupted to say,”Did you write that? Is that original?”
The pair laughed and high-fived as Strahan told Bradshaw, “stay with me, I’ve got you.”
Kansas City entered week 15 with a 12-1 record which included a number of one-score victories.
Strahan said, “The thing that has bothered me about a lot of their wins is they’re barely beating teams they should be blowing out.
“Over the last few years it wouldn’t have been a close game against Carolina or the Raiders.
“But these are games they’re winning by a blocked field goal or an inadvertent snap.”
And Strahan broke off his point to take a little shot at Bradshaw.
Michael Strahan’s NFL career
Michael Strahan is one of the most recognizable faces on television.
But he came into his media career off the back of a hugely successful stint in the NFL.
Strahan spent 14 years all with the New York Giants from 1993 to 2007.
He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and helped them win the Super Bowl in 2007 – ending the New England Patriots’ hopes of a perfect season.
Strahan was also a two-time NFL sacks leader and also won Defensive Player of the Year.
The ex-Giants star set the single-season sack record with 22.5 in 2001 – a feat which was matched by J.J. Watt exactly 20 years later.
He is one of the best defensive stars to have ever played the game – finishing with 141.5 career sacks and 854 tackles.
“Inadvertent – that’s a big word for you,” Strahan laughed.
“Those things scare me about Kansas City.
“In crunch time you’re not going to win these games like that.
“It’s going to be tough for them to go all the way this year.”
Kansas City remains on course to clinch the No. 1 seeding in the AFC playoffs.
And Mahomes and Co. are bidding to become the first team ever to win three straight Super Bowls.
