Harry Maguire has revealed he is in talks with Manchester United to sign a new contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
United have the option to extend his contract by another year, which would tie him to the club until 2026.
Asked about his future at the club and whether he wanted to sign a new deal, Maguire, who is on £190,000-a-week, said: “Look, I haven’t really thought about it.”
“I’ve still got this year left with an option in my hands, but all the signs are positive at the moment and the chat I’m having is really positive.”
Maguire played the entire game against Manchester City in a back three under Ruben Amorim and the England international stressed that Amorim is “tactically very good” when asked what has changed at the club under the new manager.
“You can see we have a good structure, a good style of play and how he wants us to work,” Maguire said.

‘But, yes, I think his demands, he is tactically very good. He has proven himself to be a winner. We are still quite new. I think he’s been here a month now and we’re really looking forward to where we can go and where we can take this club and I’m sure he’ll take it in a positive way.
And Maguire insisted United’s comeback victory over City will be crucial to their confidence after back-to-back Premier League defeats.
“Obviously it’s very important (for confidence). Winning football games is really important. When you play for this club, you need to win.
“We had back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, so to come here and make a statement is very important for our confidence and belief in where we are going and where Ruben is taking us.” Like I said, I’m sure it’s going to be a positive trip,” he said.
On Amad Diallo, 22, who won the penalty for United’s equalizer and scored the winner in the 90th minute, Maguire added: “He’s done really well this season. He’s just still a young lad and has a lot to learn. I I’m sure he’ll get loads of experience playing in these big games, and I’m sure he’s got a big future for this club.
‘We are delighted that he is doing well but, as I said, there is still a long way to go. He has a big job to help us climb the table and improve this club.
