There have been crowdfunding efforts to cover the legal expenses and several merchandise which include candles and apparel are up for sale.

Lady Gaga Allegedly Speaks Out in Defense of Luigi Mangione
However, the news which has spread like wildfire on the internet is that Lady Gaga recently got involved in the case and posts have sprung up on social media that she is gathering evidence to free Luigi Mangione.
One such post by a user named @mummummummah on X read:
“Lady Gaga has started looking for evidence to free Luigi Mangione (TMZ reports).”
A second user by the name @iconnickofficial, which stated:
“New York Times confirms and TMZ reporters said Lady Gaga has hired a ‘brilliant team of lawyers and researchers’ to help construct a case to free Luigi Mangione. italiansdoitbetter.”
Netizens in their flight of imagination even dug out the common Italian links between Lady Gaga and Luigi Mangione and a user wrote on X,

However, the news is not true despite loud claims that the news source was TMZ and New York Times but both the news outlets have not published any news items which stated that Lady Gaga was involved in pursuing the Luigi Mangione case.
Also, there was no statement forthcoming from the singer that she is in any way involved with Luigi’s case. In all probability, this is a fake news.
However, the news is viral across social media and many believe that it is true news.
The investigating agencies are still trying to unearth the motive behind the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Luigi Mangione is the main suspect in the shooting and is facing First degree murder charges along with charges of possessing an illegal weapon and falsifying documents. According to media house NBC New York which quoted NYPD’s Chief of Detectives, Joseph Kenny, stated that there is no indication that the suspect was a client of UnitedHealthcare in the past.
Kenny stated to the media house,
“We have no indication that he was ever a client of UnitedHealthcare, but he does make mention that it is the fifth largest corporation in America, which would make it the largest healthcare organization in America.”
