Chon Buri police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 29 year old man from Maha Sarakham after he was struck by a train. Evidence from TikTok, posted by the deceased, sparked further inquiries into the incident.

A train hit a pedestrian near the railway tracks before reaching Soi Rong Po in Bang Lamung, Chon Buri yesterday, December 17 at around 5.06am. The victim was identified as 29 year old Sitthichai, a resident of Maha Sarakham province.

Upon investigation, police discovered that his ankles were bound with a shirt. Concerned about the peculiar nature of the incident, they called in forensic officers from Chon Buri’s Zone Two to conduct a thorough examination of the scene.

Police Colonel Navin Sinthurat, the superintendent of Bang Lamung Police Station, along with the forensic team, meticulously examined the body by 8.36am. It was confirmed that there were no signs of assault. The shirt tied around the victim’s ankles was concluded to be a makeshift alternative to shoes for walking along the railway tracks, rather than any form of restraint.

Additional investigations were led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Kornpong Sukwisit, the deputy superintendent of investigations at Bang Lamung Police Station. The investigation team scoured the area for clues and interviewed potential witnesses. They discovered a TikTok post by the deceased, which hinted at his troubled state of mind before his death.

In the video, Sitthichai expressed feelings of being a burden.

“If my death will make you happy, I will leave this family. I will remove my name from the household registration to avoid tarnishing the family name. I apologise for being an ungrateful person.”

The deceased also used a hashtag related to the railway.

“Please take care of this.”

This evidence has been collected for further examination.

To gain a clearer understanding of the case, Pol. Col. Navin ordered the deceased’s body to be sent for a forensic autopsy at the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine.

The examination aims to provide additional insights before the body is released to the family for religious rites and funeral proceedings.

While the investigation continues, police are reaching out to the victim’s family to gather more information and context about his mental state leading up to the incident.

The police remain committed to uncovering the full truth behind this tragic event, ensuring that all relevant evidence is thoroughly examined, reported KhaoSod.
