The data breach occurred between August and September 2021.

Marshall & Melhorn, a full-service law firm specializing in business, estate planning, intellectual property law, and other areas, has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve claims.

The settlement benefits individuals whose personal information was compromised during the breach, as well as anyone who received a mailed notification about the incident.

Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claimed the law firm failed to implement adequate data protection measures.

This resulted in significant damages for its clients.

It is said that both current and former employees’ full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and financial data were compromised.

Claims can be made via the settlement website, and it’s simple to get started, but you’ll have to hurry – the deadline is just a few days away.

CAN YOU CLAIM?

To receive a payment, class members must complete and submit a claim form by the deadline.

You’ll need to provide proof of expenses, such as receipts, financial statements, tax documents, or other relevant records.

These must be included for reimbursement requests.

The settlement offers a critical opportunity for affected individuals to recover financial losses incurred from the data breach.

For more information or to access the claim form, visit the settlement website or contact the settlement administrator.

Claims have to be submitted by December 23, 2024.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT?

Under the settlement terms, eligible class members can receive a pro rata cash payment estimated at $70.

However, this amount may vary depending on the number of claims filed and other factors.

Additionally, class members may claim up to $5,000 in reimbursements for documented out-of-pocket expenses incurred due to the data breach.

These expenses may include unreimbursed losses related to fraud or identity theft, professional fees, credit freezing or unfreezing costs, and credit monitoring services.

A final approval hearing is set to take place on January 13, 2025.

But you must have submitted your claim form by December 23, 2024 to avoid missing out on cash that could be yours.

Visit the settlement website to submit a claim before it’s too late.
