Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha actor Shantanu Maheshwari has donned the police uniform for his Bengali debut ChaalChitro.
Being a part of a Cop Universe film for the first time, Shantanu is very excited to be taking on this role. “This is my first cop role and I am very excited to play it. The zest my character has to prove himself is the biggest USP of this role. He’s a young guy, topper of his class, a very passionate guy who initially nobody takes very seriously, but with time realizes his worth on the job. My role in the film is very real, and would relate with many. It also brought out a very different side of me as an actor and that was an exciting element for me”, shares Shantanu.
Speaking about the responsibility that comes in when playing a role in a uniform, Shantanu says, “The respect I have for all our policemen immediately brought out a certain kind of responsible feeling when I was wearing the uniform for the role. I feel proud to be playing the role of a cop, donning the uniform on screen that off the screen protects our people every single day. I feel privileged to have gotten this chance to play the role of a cop for Chaalchitro”.
Chaalchitro was released today, 20th of December. Directed by Pratim Dasgupta, and starring Shantanu Maheshwari and Tota Roy Chowdhury showcases the intense mystery, drama and thrill that an ideal cop universe film is all about.
