SaySoTheMac, one of the original members of the California-based rap group Stinc Team, has reportedly passed away on Thursday, December 19th.
The news broke just hours after The Mac performed at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles during a memorial show for the late Drakeo the Ruler. Other Stinc Team members began sharing tributes on Instagram Stories shortly after the concert, confirming his death.
Although details surrounding his passing are still scarce, Amy Movie reported that Mac, born in 1994, allegedly died of an overdose. No further information has been provided at this time. His sudden death has left fans and other artists in disbelief, especially considering the tragic losses the group has already endured. Drakeo the Ruler, the group’s leader, was murdered on the same day in 2021, and another member, Ketchy The Great, also passed away the same year.
Stinc Team members, including Ralfy the Plug, Young Bull, and DeneroDaDoughHunter, expressed shock at the loss, noting that Mac had been with them just hours before his death. Known for his candid discussions about addiction, SaySoTheMac had previously shared his struggles and journey to sobriety. Acknowledging the impact of drug abuse on both his life and the Stinc Team’s music, he often addressed drug use in Los Angeles hip-hop culture.
Born in South Central Los Angeles, SaySoTheMac grew up with a single mother while his father was incarcerated for much of his life. Reflecting on his early years, The Mac described how his mother introduced him to alcohol at the age of nine, an experience that shaped his views on addiction.
