TJ MAXX has announced that it will be following tradition and closing on Christmas Day.
Over 1,300 of its US stores will close doors for the holiday, so loyal shoppers who frequent the discount retailer will have to find an alternative.

24-HOUR BLACKOUT
As the holidays draw closer, TJ Maxx has announced that it will be closing all 1,319 stores for Christmas Day.
The chain is known for its wide array of affordable fashion, home goods, and unique finds – but they’ll have to wait for another day.
The 24-hour closure allows employees to spend the festivities with their families and follows a long list of retailers doing the same.
It’s not all bad news, however.
Shopping will resume as normal for all TJ Maxx fans on December 26.
Most locations are usually open from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm, Monday through Saturday, and from 10 am to 8 pm on Sundays.
This year, TJ Maxx will offer extended hours and instead be open at 8 am on Thursday.
SISTER STOPPAGES
If you’re thinking about heading to Marshalls instead, think again.
This mass closure won’t just affect TJ Maxx, as all names under TJX Companies will be closing for Christmas.
Sister chain Marshalls will also shutter its doors on the same day, leaving bargain hunters with limited options.
While many retailers turn to online shopping as an alternative, TJ Maxx and Marshalls have a limited e-commerce presence compared to competitors.
Most, if not all stores closing for the holidays are likely to resume regular scheduling on December 26.
It’s best to check your local store’s opening times.
