ONE of the leading staffing agencies in the country, Automation Personnel Services, has agreed to a $1.375 million settlement.
This is to resolve a class action lawsuit stemming from a 2020 data breach that allegedly compromised sensitive personal information.

The breach, which occurred in November 2020 and was announced in March 2021, exposed employee and job applicant data.
Many of the information sensitive, which included Social Security numbers and more.
In this class action lawsuit, Automation Personnel Services, a staffing agency connecting job seekers with employers, is accused of failing to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to prevent the cyberattack.
Although the company denies any wrongdoing, it has agreed to the large settlement of $1.375 million to resolve the allegations.
But you’ll need to act quickly, as the deadline is on December 24.
BETTER SETTLE
The settlement benefits individuals whose personal information was exposed during the data breach.
Those whose information was potentially compromised are eligible to receive financial compensation and credit monitoring services.
Class members can claim up to $5,000 in reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses directly linked to the breach.
This includes costs such as bank fees, credit monitoring expenses, and any fraudulent charges.
Additionally, class members who lost time due to the breach can claim compensation for up to four hours at a rate of $20 per hour.
As part of the settlement, class members are also entitled to one year of free credit monitoring services through Identity Theft Guard Solutions.
This provides added protection and peace of mind for those affected.
You’ll have to submit a claim form by December 24, 2024.
MAKE YOUR CLAIM
To participate, eligible individuals must first submit a claim form by the deadline of December 24, 2024.
You’ll need to provide supporting documentation, such as receipts, bills, or bank statements to substantiate claims for reimbursement of out-of-pocket losses.
A final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for February 6, 2025.
During this hearing, the court will determine whether to grant final approval of the settlement.
But you won’t be able to recover any money back without submitting a claim form.
