Back in June, Carly released her fourth studio album, Hummingbird, which marked her fourth studio album.

Carly has now collaborated with Michael on their track Maybe This Christmas, which was all recorded on an iPhone 16.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun ahead of the holidays, Carly has shared what it was like to work with Michael, with the country star also revealing why a move to the United Kingdom might be on the cards.

“I’ve been a fan of Michaels for years, I mean, he’s one of the great singers of all time,” Carly gushed in her chat with us.

“And to get to have a song. You know. That isn’t in the Country World, it kind of stepped me out of my comfort zone.

“But still in a really authentic way to get to sing with a, an amazing vocalist on a really special song.”

“That means something obviously,” she added, continuing: “Storytelling is really important to me. It was an honour, and I love this song and I love him, and he’s now a dear friend.”

She added that Michael actually approached her and wanted to collaborate, and she agreed to be on the track before even hearing it, gushing: “So that tells you how excited I was about it.”

SURPRISING RECORDING SECRET

Opening up about the “most interesting” part of the recording session, Carly said: “Our vocal tracks were recorded on the new iPhone 16, which is wild to me.

“It’s a it’s a new feature on the brand new phone, under the voice memos, that they’ve kind of with Michael’s thoughts and input, they’ve created something that now is going to open up.

“You know, recording to people that maybe can’t afford to be in a studio aren’t gonna do work.

“But yeah, our vocals were recorded on a freaking iPhone,” she said.

We then asked Carly if she was excited for her UK tour in early 2025, with the country artist hinting at a possible move to England because of how much she loves it.

EXCITED TO BE COMING BACK TO THE UK

“Oh my gosh, it’s all my band and I talk about, we are so excited,” Carly said of her 2025 shows in the UK.

“We can’t believe it’s here. You know, it’s almost been a year since we announced at C2C that we were coming. We get to go to a lot of places that we’ve never been, we get to come back to some of our favourite places.

“So, we’re we’re really excited.”

She added: “The fans, they’re better than American fans. No. Um, I don’t know, let’s see. I mean, I’m kind of not kidding in a way.

“I think for me, I think everybody has a different experience when they go to the UK.

“For me. For whatever reason, my music has really connected and I’m an artist that faces her music off of the musicality and the storytelling.

FEELING MISUNDERSTOOD AS AN ARTIST

“And that doesn’t always translate in America. You know, sometimes people just want to have a big party and I can feel misunderstood at certain times in my career as an artist playing live,” she said candidly.

Carly went on: “And I have to say that I feel so at home when I play shows. And London in the UK, I really feel connected in a way that I don’t feel here, which makes me really happy and really excited to get over there.

On whether she’d really consider a move to the UK, Carly said: “I mean, I would like, I’ll say this if it goes as well as I think it’s going to go over there touring. Um, I definitely will continue to come more frequently.”
