Big cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai host big live concerts and events of Bollywood stars. These events attract many crowds, whereas some people like to enjoy this day peacefully with family and friends.
Security is increased in large cities as the incidents of violence and harassment that come on this day have risen in the last few years.
New Year’s Day also happens to be a great tourism day, especially in all the places that are widely known for tourism. That includes Goa. Many people visit Goa to welcome New Year at the seashore. It is a great show that attracts not only Indians, but also foreigners.
