BREAKFAST might be the most important meal of the day but it doesn’t have to be expensive.
Dollar Tree shoppers can now pick up a cheaper alternative to a fan favorite that has been described as “just as good.”

Whether you’re in a rush out the door and looking for a quick snack or in need of a sugar rush that oatmeal can’t solve, these treats are a tasty way to start the day.
Dollar Tree is currently selling a six-pack of Toast’em Pop-ups for just $1.25.
According to manufacturers, “breakfast has never been easier, faster, or tastier.”
The pop-up pastries are “fully-baked, ready-to-eat, and provide a good source of seven vitamins and minerals.”
They can be eaten straight from the box or heated in the toaster or microwave.
Dollar Tree has described the pastries as “perfect for on-the-go satisfaction.”
They feature a “delicious strawberry filling and a frosted outer coating.”
Manufacturers advertised the snacks as ideal for “quick breakfasts, traveling snacks, school functions, and care packages.”
Shoppers can make significant savings on these pastries given that an eight-pack of Strawberry Frosted Pop-Tarts currently retails for $2.62 from Walmart.
Dollar Tree customers gave the affordable snack an average rating of 4.9 stars out of five.
They shared their thoughts on the product in the review section of the Dollar Tree site.
“Wow! I am shocked at how good these are! I hadn’t had breakfast and decided to grab these to try and they are great!” wrote one shopper.
“Just as good as Pop Tarts! I’m definitely getting more.”
“The Toast’em products are very good, almost as good as the well known competitor product. And a great bargain at Dollar Tree,” said another customer.
“Love-love-love these! I bought the strawberry ones on a whim and I was hooked!” commented a third person.
Dollar Tree pricing
Despite the name of the store, Dollar Tree recently added items that cost more than $1 to its inventory.
Most items at the store cost no more than $1.25, but items in the Dollar Tree Plus section cost up to $5.
Dollar Tree introduced Plus aisles to 100 locations in 2019 as part of an effort to diversify its products.
By 2022, Dollar Tree had added the items to over 1,500 locations.
“We believe testing additional price points above $1 for Dollar Tree products will enable us over time to expand our assortments, introduce new products and meet more of our customers’ everyday needs,” president and CEO Michael Witynski said in a statement.
“Our brand promise is that customers get great value for what they spend at Dollar Tree. We will continue to be fiercely protective of that promise, regardless of the price point.”
“Love them out of the package versus toasted – great for an emergency kit in the car and I always keep a box in my work locker.”
“I always put these in my cart first when I walk in the door,” said another customer.
“These are always fresh tasting, softer than Pop-Tarts and the filling and frosting are so much better tasting. I love these little buggers, tally-ho.”
“I have always preferred these Toast’ems over Pop-Tarts,” commented one buyer.
“Better tasting, more filling, much less expensive, what else is there to say?”
