An insurance brokerage company has put forward the money to settle claims put against it in a lawsuit.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. was accused of failing to prevent a data breach in 2020.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. provides risk management services to its clients.

The company was also accused of not protecting customers’ and employees’ sensitive information from hackers.

This breach reportedly compromised information like medical data, Social Security numbers, and financial information.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has not admitted any wrongdoing but has put aside the money to settle the lawsuit, according to Top Class Actions.

Eligibility

People who received a data breach letter informing them their information had been compromised can step forward for the money.

These eligible claimants would have been told their details were affected between June 3 and September 26 2020.

Money

Class members can get up to $6,000 back for any documented losses but they will need to provide proof.

These could include money lost through fraud, fees, credit expenses, and identity theft.

People affected by the breach who did not experience losses can also take something away from this settlement.

These class members can have their financial accounts monitored for three years.

These people can alternatively choose to receive a pro-rata share of the settlement cash.

Class members from California would also get an extra $100 on top of other services or cash rewards claimed.

Deadlines

There are important dates that class members must keep in mind to ensure they do not miss out on any money.

People can file any exclusions or objections in this lawsuit until January 13.

The final day to submit a valid claim form is February 10.
