COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — It’s a Christmas story we look forward to bringing to you every year. NORAD is busy working this morning to track Santa. They’ve been tracking Santa since 1955. The phones open at 06:00 on Christmas Eve.
General Gregory Guillot says it’s important to make sure kids don’t get jumped by Santa. “To make sure we can tell children all over the world when they need to be in bed so they don’t get jumped by Santa, because as we all know he will only stop by houses where children are sleeping.”
I asked Guillot how NORAD manages this. “We have some of the best and most capable systems in the world to track all kinds of objects, including a sled, radar, satellites and even our fighter jets.”
NORAD Tracks Santa relies on donations to make it all possible. Children from all over the world participate every year. There are a few ways to check in on jolly old Saint Nick.
