Newly signed Barcelona talent Ibrahim Diarra has this week been compared to a thoroughly remarkable pair of Blaugrana players both past and present.
Youngster Diarra, meanwhile, was finally announced as Barcelona’s latest addition earlier this week.
After a long saga that spanned most of the year, during which the talented youngster spent a trial period in the Catalan capital before returning to his native Mali, Barca confirmed Diarra’s arrival on a contract until the summer of 2028.
An explosive winger with a host of fantastic attributes, expectations are high when it comes to the 18-year-old’s prospects in Spain.
A Barcelona persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be interested to hear that Diarra was compared to a pair of high-profile strikers on Tuesday.
Speaking in an interview with Diario SportSoumaila Coulibaly, Mali’s U20 coach, was drawn to the talents of the country’s latest breakthrough talent.
And Coulibaly went on to explain:
“He reminds me of Rivaldo or Lamine Yamal. Left-handed with similar characteristics. But he has to make his way, of course. For me, he is the biggest talent in Mali right now, without a doubt.”
