Fox Sports star Emmanuel Acho films himself fleeing LA fires in harrowing vid as Hollywood Hills burns in the distance

FOX Sports star Emmanuel Acho said Los Angeles was “literally on fire” when he filmed himself fleeing the wildfires that are ravaging the California city.

A series of infernos have been burning across Los Angeles, killing at least five people, causing over 130,000 people to flee, and turning 1,000 buildings into rubble.

The blaze that has torched the Pacific Palisades neighborhood is the most destructive wildfire in Los Angeles history.

But a fire broke out in the Hollywood Hills, sparking panic and chaos on the roads.

Ex-NFL star Acho, 34, shared footage from his car that showed gridlocked streets as drivers evacuated.

An orange glow was seen in the distance, and plumes of smoke billowed.

It comes as:

  • Five people have died as uncontrolled wildfires engulf Los Angeles
  • At least 130,000 have been evacuated and schools have closed
  • Nearly 400,000 homes are left without power as over 2,000 buildings destroyed
  • Firefighters are “maxed out” and reportedly running out of water
  • Harrowing footage shows the city up in flames
  • Celebrity homes have been torched, including A-listers like Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, and Anthony Hopkins
  • Joe Biden slammed for announcing granddaughter’s baby news during LA fire presser

“Yo, LA is literally on fire,” Acho said in the clip uploaded to X.

“You can literally see the freaking fire in the Hollywood Hills.”

Acho begged social media users to “please pray” for Los Angeles.

The blaze raging near the Hollywood Hills has been named the Sunset Fire.

Dramatic footage, obtained by the ABC affiliate KABC-TV, showed homes being overwhelmed by the flames.

It appears fire crew efforts proved futile as flames gutted properties in Studio City.

Outside one home, a palm tree dramatically caught fire from flying embers, forcing locals to jump into action.

The Hollywood Boulevard and Walk of Fame were evacuated as low-flying helicopters frantically tried to dampen the flames.

An evacuation order was issued, and officials revealed last night that the blaze had burned around 60 acres.

Officials have since updated residents on the status of the blaze.

They said the most intense part of the fire was on the southwestern side of the Hollywood Hills.

“At the heel of the fire, active flames have been extinguished, though smoldering continues within the interior,” the LA County Sheriff’s Department said.

An evacuation center has since been created.

Residents recalled the chaos as they tried to get to safety.

“Traffic is jammed to fire trucks and police vehicles as well as people trying to leave,” Scott Dill told CNN.

Meanwhile, the Palisades and Eaton fires continue to rage.

More than 17,000 acres of land have been torched by the Palisades blaze, according to CalFire chiefs.

The blaze has a 0% containment rate.

The Eaton Fire has scorched over 10,000 acres and has not been contained, while the Hurst and Lidia blazes have torched 855 and 348 acres respectively.

‘A GHOST TOWN’

CNN reporter Leigh Waldman revealed Pacific Palisades had been turned into a ghost town.

“Everyone keeps saying ‘apocalyptic,’ but that doesn’t begin to cover it,” Waldman added.

A-list celebrities have told how the fires have gutted their sprawling properties.

Paris Hilton’s $8.4 million plush waterfront Malibu mansion has been reduced to ash.

Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.”

Sources told TMZ the house had been burned to a crisp.

And Jamie Lee Curtis fought back tears as she revealed her home was possibly on fire.

John Goodman and Anthony Hopkins’ properties were also impacted by the fires.

And, the former home of Friends star Matthew Perry was said to be surrounded by flames, according to Realtor.
