AMAZON is shopping for new sports to add to its streaming empire.
The company’s head of sports, Jay Marine, has mad it known that Amazon is looking to expand its portfolio.

In an interview with CNBC, Marine shared what properties Amazon is keeping an eye on for expansion.
“We looked at everything, you know, I think it’s only responsible to look at everything,” Marine said.
“I think MLB has done a great job. You know, they’ve really made some innovations in the game to speed up the game, and that’s really seemed to have worked.”
Amazon already has a small package of New York Yankees games for customers in New York, Connecticut, north and central New Jersey, and northeast Pennsylvania.
That package only includes select games throughout the season though.
Amazon recently had a plan to plunge nine figures into Diamond Sports Group during their bankruptcy.
This would have given Amazon a route into local baseball rights.
However, the plan fell through and the company is more likely to pursue a national MLB package if they decide to pursue it.
Amazon is already adding a national NBA package starting next season.
Outside of MLB, Amazon also has eyes on UFC.
UFC’s deal with ESPN ends this year, and it is expected that the fighting circuit will look to add another streaming partner to their next TV deal.
Marine wants Amazon to be one of those partners.
“You know what Dana and that team, I mean, that’s an incredible success story,” Marine said.
“They’ve grown that into just an incredibly valuable franchise, incredibly passionate fan base.
“I have huge respect for them over there, and if that comes to market, I think they’re an exclusive window right now, we’d be very interested in taking a look as I expect every broadcaster would.”

With WWE recently entering into a deal with Netflix it wouldn’t be surprising to see UFC follow suit with a company like Amazon.
The two fighting companies are under the same parent company, TKO, and could use WWE’s deal as a template for a UFC deal.
Amazon already has a fairly extensive package of sports, with one of their most recent additions being NASCAR.
Prime Video will host a five-race stretch in the summer of 2025 with some of NASCAR’s biggest races.
Included are Charlotte, Nashville, Michigan, Mexico City, and Pocono.
