A collision occurred between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Soi Nong Ket Yai, Bang Lamung district, at 5.06am yesterday, January 11, prompting a response from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre in Pattaya.
Upon arrival, the rescue team discovered an orange pickup truck with severe damage at the front. The driver, 34 year old Chaiyarat Panpitanusorn, was present at the scene to provide a statement.
Nearby, a black motorcycle was found severely damaged in the middle of the road. Its rider, 26 year old Niwet Inpitak, sustained critical injuries. Rescue workers administered CPR to save him, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Chaiyarat recounted that he was driving his pickup out of Sukhumvit Road when the motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, allegedly made a sudden and sharp turn into Soi Suksomboon, cutting in front of his vehicle. Despite his efforts to brake, he reportedly could not avoid the collision, reported The Pattaya News.
Police from Bang Lamung Station documented the scene and intend to review CCTV footage to verify the sequence of events leading to this tragic accident, ensuring all parties are treated fairly. The body of the deceased has been taken to Bang Lamung Hospital, where it will remain until family members complete the necessary formalities for religious rites.
In related news, a tragic accident occurred on January 7 when a 71 year old woman driving a white Mitsubishi Triton collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the motorcyclist’s death. The incident happened at 12.30pm, at the Na Jomtien subdistrict in Sattahip, Chon Buri.
Police Lieutenant Thanakorn Suetrong from the Na Jomtien Police Station received the report of the collision at the red light intersection near the Nong Nooch Garden entrance on Sukhumvit Road. The emergency medical team from Wat Yan Sangwararam Hospital and the Sawang Rojanatham Sathan Rescue Foundation quickly arrived at the scene.
