Bomb shelters to be built at ALL new buildings in Norway for ‘worst case scenario’ amid Putin’s threats to NATO

NORWAY is to build thousands of shelters as it prepares for the “worst case scenario” amid fears of a Russian war with NATO.

The Norwegian government says the creation of security bunkers in all new large-scale buildings is done to counter the huge amount of “uncertainty” that plagues Europe around Vladimir Putinpp next move.

It has been almost three years since Vlad ordered his troops to illegally invade Ukraine and throw the continent into chaos.

Ever since the strongly condemned drive playing off the aging despot, Putin has continued to launch scathing attacks on all those who defend Ukraine.

This has dragged on NATO into the conflict amid several dire threats of an escalation of the war if they continue to arm and finance Russia’s enemies.

Now Norwaywhich has a limit to Ukrainefearing that Vlad’s rule of tyranny will not end after he claims his first land.

The bloodthirsty dictator is believed to want to take more nations if he wins in Ukraine as he looks set to rule over Europe with an iron fist.

Norway shares a more than 120-mile border with Russia in the Arctic Circle.

They are also a founding member of NATO since joining in 1949.

Any attack by them will prompt a quick and immediate response from the remaining members of the European alliance to ensure their security.

Against the background of Russia’s continued aggression in Ukraine, Norway’s government has planned to strengthen its security measures.

They talked about more than 100 methods to ensure civil preparedness on January 10, in a crystal on national security.

One of these is a plan to reintroduce the obligation to build shelters in new buildings.

This practice was a common priority for several years before it was stopped in 1998.

Norway’s Minister of Justice and Public Security Emilie Enger Mehl revealed that the demands for additional protection are due to the imminent threat of being attacked in future.

He told NRK: “There is more uncertainty around us.

“We must take care of the civilian population, in the event of a ‘worst case scenario’ of war or armed attacks.

“Going forward, we must prepare for a new era.”

The potential new legislation will apply to all building complexes larger than 1,000 square meters.

Two separate shelters will be created with one protecting people from chemical or radioactive weapons.

The other will be used primarily to protect against more conventional weapons and be similar to what was used decades ago.

These could be reused from subway stations or parking garages.

Mehl added: “Russia’s willingness to use military force to achieve political goals shows that Norway is likely to have to deal with an unpredictable and risk-averse neighbor for a long time to come.”

Although a future conflict is the main reason for the bunker plans, they will also serve as backup plans in case or extreme weather events or even something else pandemic.

The government’s plans will have to be reviewed Parliament if they are going to move on.

Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are also set to bolster their defense systems over similar concerns.

NATO WAR PREPARATION

NATO chief Mark Rutte has warned that the alliance must prepare for war or its members will pant in the face of Russian aggression.

The secretary-general harkened back to the days of the Cold War when countries raised defense spending to over three percent of GDP.

It comes as analysts have told The Sun NATO is not ready for a brutal Arctic war with Putin.

Despite an influx of Nato exercises in the region, troops will struggle to survive the war in the frigid wilderness, they claim.

The Arctic security experts at the Center for European Policy Analysis warned Russia is already “up to no good” in the region and that China must also be “held in check”.

In November’s latest Arctic exercises, 3,600 soldiers from the United States, SwedenUK, France and other NATO members conducted fire drills in preparation for war.

Colonel Janne Makitalo, head of the Dynamic Front 25 exercises, said the main objective was to prepare the troops for difficult Arctic conditions – now that Norway, Sweden and Finland are all NATO members.

He told reporters at the time: “This sends a message that we can train together and that we are developing our assets.”

Joel Linnainmaki, researcher at the International Institute of Finland, said the exercises were a message to Russia.

He said: “These Nato exercises are increasingly intended to show other countries, in this case particularly Russia of course, that the alliance is united and can defend its members.”

It comes as reports claim Russia is set to deploy Oreshnik hypersonic missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons beyond NATO’s doorstep in Belarus.
