TERRY Bradshaw grabbed hold of co-star Howie Long during their pre-game preview on Fox NFL Sunday’s coverage of Wild Card weekend.
Michael Strahan had asked Long if he needed “oxygen” after the former defensive end’s lengthy monologue.
The show was headlined by Curt Menefee, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, Jay Glazer, Bradshaw and Strahan.
The crew were tasked with analyzing the impending Green Bay Packers‘ trip to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Former Raiders star Long, 65, took centre stage but soon ran out of breath after his 50-second speech about the Packers’ chances.
Long didn’t come up for air as he commended Packers defensive coach Jeff Hafley and questioned Eagles QB Jalen Hurts’ sharpness.
But after nearly a minute of fast-talking, Strahan interjected: “Do you need an oxygen tank because you’ve been going for a while?”
And Long saw the funny side as he finally came to a halt, saying: “yeah I do”, as he stumbled forward.
Yet it was Bradshaw who stole the scene when he took the opportunity to come up and hilariously grab Long from behind.
Bradshaw, 76, jokingly pulled his arms back onto Long’s chest and shoulders, as if he was pumping air into his body.
A jovial Long took time to add: “I got winded”, before Menefee chimed in: “There’s a breath in there somewhere.”
Long advised the Packers defense to start with the “long game”.
But his guidance fell short as the No.2 Eagles sailed to a comfortable 22-10 victory over the No.7 seed at Lincoln Financial Field.
The playoff clash turned into a gruelling contest, with Hurts completing 13 out of 21 passes for 131 yards and delivering touchdowns to both Jahan Dotson and Dallas Goedert.
DeVonta Smith shone in the aerial game, grabbing four catches for 55 yards and Goedert amassed a bruising touchdown and 47 yards.
AJ Brown had a subdued performance with just one pass the entire night, taking it for 10 yards, while Saquon Barkley starred yet again.
After his remarkable 2,000-yard regular season run, Barkley continued to sparkle as Philadelphia’s offense’s shining star against the injury-ravaged Packers defense.
He rushed 25 times for 119 yards, and opted to strategically slide to secure the Eagles’ progression to the Divisional Round instead of scoring a runaway rushing touchdown towards the end.
