Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola And His Wife Have Separated After 30 Years Together

The couple, who tied the knot in 2014 during a private ceremony near Barcelona, reportedly decided to separate in December 2024. The two have been together for 30 years since they started dating. This news was first brought to light by the Spanish publication Sport.

The Long-Distance Dynamic

Guardiola, 53, and Serra have lived apart for over five years. While Serra moved back to Barcelona with their youngest daughter, Valentina, 17, Guardiola remained in Manchester to focus on his role with Manchester City. Despite the physical distance, the couple maintained their relationship over the years.

In addition to Valentina, the couple share two older children: Maria, 24, and Marius, 22. Serra is a Brazilian journalist and writer, while Guardiola is one of the most celebrated football managers in the world. Despite the challenges of a long-distance relationship, they were frequently seen together at public events.

The couple’s love history over decades

The couple first met in 1994 when Guardiola, a young footballer, was modelling for designer Antonio Miro in Barcelona. Their relationship blossomed, and they eventually established a home together in the Spanish city. When Guardiola’s managerial career took him to Germany, Serra accompanied him as they relocated to Munich during his time with Bayern Munich.

Despite their separation, they continued to support one another. Serra was present in Istanbul in June 2023 to celebrate Manchester City’s historic Champions League win, which secured the team’s Treble. They were also spotted together at Wimbledon in July 2023.
