Love Scam Nightmare: Woman Scammed Out of $850K by Fake AI-Generated Brad Pitt

French Woman Scammed Out of $850K by Fake AI-Generated Brad Pitt

A French woman was scammed out of $850,000 by an individual posing as Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, using AI-generated images and love letters to create a convincing illusion.

The victim, a 53-year-old interior designer named Anne, believed she was in a romantic relationship with the actor and sent him money over an extended period to cover alleged medical expenses.

The elaborate scheme included AI-generated hospital selfies, love poems, and fabricated declarations of affection, all meticulously crafted to manipulate Anne’s emotions and trust.

A Romance Rooted in Deception

The scam began when Anne, an interior designer, was contacted on Instagram by someone claiming to be Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt. The alleged “mother” praised Anne and hinted that her son needed someone like her in his life.

Anne initially doubted the authenticity of the messages but was soon convinced.

We’re talking about Brad Pitt here, and I was stunned. At first, I thought it was fake, but I didn’t really understand what was happening to me,” she shared during an interview on the French TV show Seven to Eight.

AI-Generated Photos and Emotional Manipulation

Over the next 18 months, the scammer, posing as Brad Pitt, sent Anne love poems, heartfelt messages, and even a marriage proposal.

The scammer sent Anne AI-generated videos and images of Brad Pitt to maintain the illusion of their relationship.

There are few men who write to you like that. I loved the man I was talking to. He knew how to talk to women and it was very well put together.”

The Financial Trap Unfolds

The scammer started by promising to send Anne expensive handbags, but asked her to pay customs fees, starting at $9,200.

The fraudster went on to claim that he was battling kidney cancer and accused his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, of freezing his bank accounts. To further the illusion, the scammer sent AI-generated videos and hospital selfies of Brad Pitt, stating that he was on his deathbed and needed urgent medical care.

Believing she was helping her supposed lover, Anne sent over $850,000 to a Turkish bank account to cover the alleged medical treatments.

Heartbreak and the Truth Revealed

Anne realized the truth only when she saw Brad Pitt with his current partner, Inès de Ramon. Devastated, she acknowledged the scale of the deception.

I ask myself why they chose me to do such harm like this? I’ve never harmed anyone,” she lamented.

Anne has since been hospitalized for severe depression.
