CAR GIANTS Mazda has apologized to one of its customers after they were forced to karate kick the door of their vehicle to fix a frustrating issue.
TikTok user Lizzie recently posted a video on the social media platform showing her kicking the door of her Mazda 5 during freezing conditions.

In a video she posted online, she can be seen kicking the door of her vehicle during freezing conditions[/caption]
In the video, Lizzie faces the camera on what appears to be a chilly day somewhere in Minnesota.
She then speaks to the camera, saying: “Are you looking for a way to relieve some stress in your life?
“Here’s what you do, you move to Minnesota, step one.
“Step two, you buy a Mazda 5, you wait until it’s super duper cold and your car doors don’t shut anymore and you’ve got to do this.”
She then proceeds to show herself kicking the rear passenger door of her Mazda to force it to close.
The video seemingly went viral and picked up plenty of comments.
One user wrote: “I had a Mazda where the parking brake would freeze and the handle wouldn’t disengage it.
“Was really fun driving to work that way.”
Another wrote: “Was in Indiana, but I snapped one of the handles off my 5’s door on a -15° morning. I love that car. Just not below freezing.”
And a third suggested a fix: “I know this is too late but just in case there are others out there, silicone spray helps a lot with the Mazda 5 door issues.”
Then, in a later video, Lizzie reveals that Mazda USA actually sent her a message, apologizing for the issue she faced.
They wrote: “Hey Lizzie, we’re genuinely sorry for your experience and want to make things right. Please please DM us so we can assist further.”
Lizzie, however, responds to the message in another video.
Again facing the camera, she said: “I really appreciate this Mazda but it turns out you’re an hour too late.”
She reveals she’s bought a new car, this time opting for a Subaru SUV – a brand considered a firm rival to Mazda.
“Upgrade, no more frozen doors,” she added.
In the caption of the video, she also wrote: “I consider it destiny because my 13-year-old daughter was born in the front seat of a Subaru.”
Subaru of America even comments underneath the video, with: “Welcome to the Subie Squad!”
Subaru vehicles are widely recognized for their strong reliability and durability, and consistently demonstrate good performance alongside robust engineering and solid build quality.
Elsewhere, other drivers struggling in the recent freezing conditions have been warned of cracking their windscreen by using a popular de-icing hack.
However, a top mechanic suggests it can be easily avoided by using a simple hands-free solution that costs a mere $5.
