“Akahambe”: Zimbabwean TikToker Ndoyisile Sibindi Faces the Wrath of South Africans Over His Classist Remarks About Tembisa People

Zimbabwean TikToker Ndoyisile Sibindi Faces the Wrath of South Africans as they Snub His Apology

Zimbabwean TikToker Ndoyisile Sibindi has sparked outrage from South Africans over his classist remarks about Tembisa people overcrowding Mall of Africa.

His attempt to apologize has only fueled further anger, with many calling for him to be canceled and deported back to Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwean TikToker Sparks Outrage Over Remarks About Tembisa Residents

Ndoyisile Ndumiso, a popular content creator and TikToker residing in South Africa triggered outrage from Mzansi people after  he blamed the people of Tembisa for flocking to Mall of Africa for no apparent reason and crowding it.

His remarks offended many South Africans, who responded by dragging him online and accusing him of insulting not only Tembisa but the nation as a whole. He was labeled arrogant, classist, and condescending.

Ndoyisile Apologizes, Claims Remarks Were Meant as a Joke

In an attempt to quell the fire, Ndoyisile released a video apologizing, explaining that his remarks were intended as a joke and not meant to offend anyone.

This video is mainly to apologise to people from Tembisa who got offended by the video that is currently circulating. First things first, I’m sorry if I offended you, it was not my intention, it was just a joke.

“That video was pre-recorded from my YouTube channel, from a vlog that I posted two weeks ago,” he said in a now-deleted apology video.

In his defense, Ndoyisile explained that he recorded the video to inform his followers about why he couldn’t vlog at the mall as originally planned, citing overcrowding as the reason.

Those words did not come from a place of being classist or suggesting that people shouldn’t go to the mall. It’s a mall, after all, people are bound to go there.

If you follow my content, you know that it’s often filled with dry humour and sarcasm, which my audience enjoys. If people didn’t like my content, I wouldn’t be nearing a million followers.”

Ndoyisile also responded to inquiries concerning his nationality and the authenticity of his documents.

“I’ve never been ashamed of where I come from. I was born and raised in Havana township in Zimbabwe. I’m proud of my roots, and I’m not hiding anything.”

South Africans Snub Ndoyisile’s Apology

However, many South Africans have rejected his apology, deeming it insincere and fake. Some have gone as far as unfollowing him on all his social media platforms, with others reporting his YouTube channel. Many are calling for him to be canceled and to return to Zimbabwe

Some have even called on Home Affairs to investigate him, urging the department to deport him if he is not in South Africa legally.

Here are some of the reactions;

@destinyzee;

Ndoyisile must start packing, the freedom he got In SA got to his head that he belittles the people in South Africa. Akahambe

@magadze_rendani;

They treat us like we are foreigners in our own country, he knew exactly what he is doing with his fake apology

@CRangataj;

He must be made an example of, we cannot rest until he is back in the dusty streets of Zimbabwe.
We destroyed our own Dr. Matthew to the point of him living in a shelter, Chiddimma is crying in dirty Lagos, and now him, he is our next project!

He made a big mistake, his obvious arrogance just gaslights us further. He needs to be taught a lesson this one ..

@Miz_Ruraltarain;

Ndoyisile doesn’t see us or respect us!

He intentionally wore a t-shirt written, “Whatever.” It is this arrogance that frustrates South Africans like myself even more!

Zimbabweans are generally arrogant, whether Shona or Ndebele. They carry the same condescending attitude
