ASPIRING home-owners have been impressed by Amazon’s prefab home listing, a two storey ‘barn style’ container house.
The product description says the home is ‘a remarkable blend of durability and comfort, designed to perform exceptionally well in all temperatures and weather conditions’.
The home is now on sale, and there are two size options available to choose from: 20 foot or 40 foot.
Pricing for the 20 foot option begins at $29,999.
And pricing for the larger 40 foot option begins at $34,999.99.
The listing of the container house describes it as ‘expertly crafted to withstand various environmental challenges’.
The seller says they can ensure lasting resilience thanks to the high-quality construction.
The advert boasts the house has a ‘lifetime of more than 40 years’.
Made of high-grade steel, customers can customize the color of the prefab house, allowing them to have control over the design process.
And the seller says the house is durable and safe, with fire-resistant foam walls (Grade A), 100% waterproofing and thermal insulation.
Pictures of the home show it assembled in different climates, from mid-temperature settings to snowy surroundings.
The ‘barn home’ comes pre-assembled, and requires minimal on-site work.
The seller estimates the unfolding and assembly of the home should take just 20-25 minutes between five to six people.
Once assembled, the home boasts ‘well-appointed bedrooms’, bathrooms, a modern kitchen and an ‘inviting’ living room.
The seller says they offer ‘a vast variety of tiny home models and customization options’ so prices may vary depending on your specification.
The builders of the home have over 25 years of manufacturing experience, which they say enables them to craft the residence to a beautifully high standard, with both style and structural integrity.
And the two-storey home has scored 4.5/5 stars in it’s reviews.
One happy reviewer left five stars, writing: “I was initially worried about ordering my container house directly from this seller because of concerns about scams, especially since prices varied so much for different models and because I had to place the order directly and not on this platform [Amazon].
“I’m so glad I took the leap! The quality is outstanding, and the customer service was exceptional.
“Highly recommend this reliable company!”
Another reviewer left a four star review, but warned that they thought the home looked a little smaller on arrival than they had expected.
What is a tiny home?
Technically, a tiny home is any house measuring under 400 square feet.
Many tiny homes are built on trailers so they can be towed anywhere, and some are converted from old school buses or vans.
Each state has its own rules about tiny homes, but, generally, they are not subject to the same taxes as regular homes.
However, Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, and West Virginia have made tiny homes illegal as permanent dwellings.
