Argentina’s libertarian President Javier Milei will meet with US President-elect Donald Trump and tycoon Elon Musk next week in the US, a government spokesman said on Thursday.
The meeting with Trump will take place at Mar-a-Lago, the US leader-elect’s private club in South Florida, according to the spokesperson.
Since the election late last year, Milei has sought close ties with the US and since Tuesday’s US election has emphasized her support for Trump with a fireworks display and social media posts.
The same government source said Milei will also meet billionaire Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and owner of social media platform X, who is also a big Trump supporter.
A gathering of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) will take place from November 14 to 16 at Mar-a-Lago.
Meanwhile, in neighboring Brazil, Trump’s election victory has injected new energy into the country’s hard right and raised hopes that former president Jair Bolsonaro can mirror his return to power despite legal obstacles to running for office in 2026.
