ASDA shoppers are buzzing about surprise vouchers popping up in their email inboxes as part of a “thank you” for shopping in 2024.
The vouchers, which vary by customer, offer money-off rewards through the supermarket’s loyalty scheme.
Shopper Geraldine Hobbs took to Facebook to spread the word, urging others to “check your Asda email for a little ‘thank you’ for shopping in 2024.”
The rewards seem to vary based on shopping habits, with some customers getting vouchers requiring specific spend amounts to earn cashback.
One shopper commented: “I chose to ‘spend £50 to get £5’ in my cashpot. They only give you a couple weeks to do it though.”
Another added: “Mine was spend £80 to get £5 cash pot.”
But not everyone is feeling the love. Some shoppers have reported missing out entirely.
“I didn’t get one, I’m there every fortnight,” one wrote.
Another simply said: “Never got one.”
What’s the Asda Rewards Round Up?
These surprise vouchers are part of Asda’s wider Rewards loyalty programme, designed to give back to shoppers and communities alike.
A standout feature is the Asda Rewards Round Up, which lets customers support local primary schools while shopping.
Here’s how it works:
- Shoppers select a primary school through the Asda Rewards app.
- Asda donates 0.5% of their basket spend to the chosen school.
- Each school gets a £50 boost when they register and an extra £1 for every shopper who joins.
On top of this, shoppers earn Asda Pounds by completing shopping tasks, which they can later convert into vouchers to use in-store or online.
Linking a Blue Light Card unlocks even more perks, and push notifications keep users informed about new rewards.
The Cashpot for Schools initiative, which ran from September 2 to November 30, 2024, saw schools benefiting from community generosity while shoppers racked up rewards.
If you’re part of the Asda Rewards programme, now’s the time to check your inbox.
Whether you’re building up your cashpot or helping your local school, it’s a win-win for savvy shoppers.
