Patrick Mahomes screams in face and bumps into Yankees rival fan – moments before Kansas City Royals go onto lose
PATRICK Mahomes was spotted screaming in the face of a rival fan Wednesday night – but it went awkwardly wrong.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was in the stands to watch a Major League Baseball playoff clash.
The New York Yankees had the last laugh as they won the game 3-2[/caption]He took up his position in a suite at the Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals faced the New York Yankees in Game 3 of their American League Division Series contest.
And footage from the TBS game broadcast showed him letting a Yankees fan know how he felt.
Kansas City just tied the game in the fifth inning when Mahomes failed to contain his emotions.
TV cameras panned to Mahomes in his suite celebrating.
He then ran across he front of the stands to scream in the face of a Yankees fan.
The supporter seemed to laugh off Mahomes rather than try and engage in a fight with the quarterback.
The Yankees fan turned out to be a former Mahomes teammate who won a Super Bowl in Kansas City.
It was ex-Chiefs wide receiver Gehrig Dieter – who was part of the roster that won Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers in Miami, Florida in 2020.
He played for Kansas City from 2017 to 2021 and before retiring from the NFL.
Dieter felt the full force of Mahomes on Wednesday night.
But the Yankees fan ended up having the last laugh.
New York won 3-2 to take Game 3 and move into a 2-1 lead in the series.
Game 4 is Thursday night back in Kansas City, Missouri.
Fans had mixed reactions to seeing the clip of Mahomes yelling.
“Is Dieter actually a Yankees fan, or just trolling? Funny clip either way,” one asked.
“Didn’t age great,” another laughed.
But a third said, “That man bleeds KC.”
Dieter also had his say on social media after the Yankees win.
“Buddy almost got 2 pieced,” the former wide receiver wrote.
Superfine: Tailoring Black Style — Met Gala 2025’s theme explained
THE annual haute couture fundraising fashion festival known as the Met Gala has revealed its theme for 2025 — Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
Here we take a look at what that means and who this year’s co-chairs are.
The Met Gala theme is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.[/caption] The theme focuses on the influence of black men’s fashion from the 18th century to the present day.[/caption]The 2025 Met Gala theme was announced on October 9, 2024 — Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
It takes the black dandy as its subject, exploring the influence of black men’s fashion from the 18th century to the present day.
The theme draws inspiration from the book book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity (2009), written by professor and chair of Africana studies at Barnard College, Monica L Miller.
Every year Anna Wintour – along with her co-chairs – preside over the gala and the museum exhibition.
Exhibition focus
The Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibition will showcase a variety of items, including garments, paintings and photographs, all of which delve into the enduring style of Black men in the context of dandyism.
This exhibition marks a significant step in diversifying the Met’s collections and addressing historical biases in curatorial practices.
Andrew Bolton, the Curator in Charge, emphasized the importance of making fashion at The Met more accessible and inclusive.
“At the vanguard of this revitalisation is a group of extremely talented Black designers who are constantly challenging normative categories of identity,” he said.
“While their styles are both singular and distinctive, what unites them is a reliance on various tropes that are rooted in the tradition of dandyism, and specifically Black dandyism”.
The exhibition will explore how Black individuals transformed from being viewed as luxury items during slavery to becoming autonomous, self-fashioning trendsetters on a global scale.
What dandyism means and historical Context
Dandyism is a cultural and aesthetic movement characterized by an emphasis on refined style, elegance, and individuality, particularly in men’s fashion.
Originating in the late 18th century, dandyism celebrates the art of dressing well and the cultivation of personal identity through clothing.
Dandies often challenge societal norms, using fashion as a means of self-expression and social commentary.
Anna Wintour is once again hosting the big event[/caption]It served as a powerful form of resistance against oppression, allowing individuals to assert their identity and reclaim agency through their sartorial choices.
Dandyism, as defined by Monica L. Miller, can be understood as “dressing wisely and well”.
She also described black dandyism as “a strategy and a tool to rethink identity, to reimagine the self in a different context. To really push a boundary — especially during the time of enslavement, to really push a boundary on who and what counts as human, even.”
The exhibition will trace the evolution of Black dandyism from Enlightenment-era England to contemporary representations in cities like London and New York.
It is the first time since 2003 that a Costume Institute exhibition will focus solely on menswear.
Lewis Hamilton is one of co-hosts of the big event[/caption]Met Gala co-chairs
The 2025 Met Gala co-chairs represent a diverse group of influential Black men in various fields:
- Colman Domingo: actor and Met Gala newcomer
- Lewis Hamilton: seven-time Formula 1 world champion and fashion enthusiast
- A$AP Rocky: rapper and style icon
- Pharrell Williams: musician and Louis Vuitton Menswear creative director
- Anna Wintour: Vogue’s editor-in-chief and long-time Met Gala chair
Additionally, NBA legend LeBron James will serve as an honorary co-chair, marking his first appearance at the Met Gala.

How will bodybuilding be scored at Mr Olympia 2024?
Judges will score competitors according to the ‘total package,’ which is a balance of size, symmetry, and muscularity.
The IFBB Pro League has developed a scoring system based on averages. Typically, seven judges rank the competitors.
However, to achieve what the IFBB deems a fair average, each competitor’s highest and lowest scores are dropped.
In the Mr. Olympia, competitors are ranked from one through 15 and everyone outside of 15th place is in 16th place. The lowest score is equal to the highest ranking in bodybuilding, so the competitor with the lowest overall score wins.
