With friends in high places, having attended Harvard too, the well-connected art dealer represented Team GB in rowing and now works at the prestigious White Cube gallery – but who exactly is he?
It’s Ellie Goulding‘s estranged husband Caspar Jopling, 32, and he was photographed in Barcelona preparing for the triathlon.
Sharing the image to Instagram yesterday, he wrote in his caption: “First ironman, last ironman (probably) .. this was 9 hours into my 11hr 20 finish time .. regrettably ill prepared but who doesn’t enjoy pushing their limits sometimes @ironmantrispain.”
Caspar successfully went incognito during his prep, wearing wraparound mirrored sunglasses and a baseball cap.
He sported a black trisuit too, which he’d zipped down to reveal his bare chest.
Ellie and Caspar began dating in 2017 and married two years later in 2019 in what looked like a fairytale ceremony in York Minster after a 12 month engagement.
They then welcomed their son Arthur together in 2021, but we reported that after battling with hectic schedules, they were spending time separately.
Last year, she was spotted without her wedding ring as she left the Treehouse Hotel in London’s Marylebone alone looking pensive.
After we reported they attempted to get the spark back, onlookers saw Ellie and Caspar on a date night at Ricky Gervais’ comedy show in London’s Leicester Square.
In September, we also previously told how Caspar had asked Ellie to cool off her close friendship with Tory MP Zac Goldsmith in a bid to focus on their four-year marriage.
She later moved out of the home she shared with Caspar – just days after being pictured kissing her surf instructor Armando Perez in his native Costa Rica.
But this was back in April and the pair haven’t been seen together since.
Caspar’s father is The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and his mother is Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire.
His uncle is art dealer Jay Jopling, founder of renowned gallery White Cube, who was formerly married to Sam Taylor Johnson, who is now with 007 candidate Aaron.
He is a close friend of Princess Eugenie and he and Ellie are have previously been pictured spending time with the member of the Royal Family.
Caspar has a reported net worth of £5.6million, which he has likely amassed from his successful career as an art dealer.
Ellie, meanwhile, has a fortune of £14million from her music career..
Ellie and Caspar kept news of their baby a secret until Ellie was already almost eight months pregnant.
In an interview, she revealed that being in lockdown at their home in Gloucestershire due to the Covid-19 pandemic allowed them to keep the news under wraps for so long.
On May 2, 2021, Caspar announced that their baby had been born.
Posting on social media, he said: “Mum and baby both healthy and happy. Extremely grateful.”
It has since been revealed that their baby, a boy, is called Arthur.
Ellie has spoken about motherhood, saying it “really has changed everything about [her] life.”
BILLIE Piper is starring in a heartbreaking new film for Refuge, and says ‘domestic abuse can happen to anyone.’
The talented 42-year-old actress’ new project sees her in a short film that explores the different forms domestic abuse can take.
The star details the ways in which it can show up in relationships as she reads real-life testimonies from domestic abuse survivors, all of which protect their anonymity.
The ‘Make the world a Refuge’ short film projects sees testimonies read about coercive control, technology-facilitated abuse and financial abuse – alongside physical violence.
In the powerful film, Billie sits in the centre of a hall on a chair in a grey jumper and jeans and a message at the end reads: “Violence against women shows up in so many ways. But so does Refuge.”
Last year, Refuge’s National Domestic Abuse Helpline supported people 49,787 times via phone, live chat, email and their British Sign Language interpretation service.
Speaking about the new film, Billie said: “Domestic abuse can happen to anybody. It does not discriminate, and it can leave survivors questioning themselves and their reality.
“Reading the words of survivors who have experienced such sinister forms of abuse was truly harrowing, but it is vital that more people are made aware of the many signs of abuse so that abusers can be held responsible.
“While it is horrific to know just how common domestic abuse is, speaking up is crucial in helping survivors realise that it is never their fault, and that Refuge is here to offer support.”
Billie has been an ambassador for Refuge since 2022, and her role in the short film comes after she played a lead part in Netflix hit Scoop.
She portrayed the tenacious Newsnight booker who secured Prince Andrew’s car crash interview about his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
And after the film, Billie spoke about recognising the abuse of women, as she told the Radio Times: “Whenever there’s a story about abuse of women, I pay attention.
“I’m an ambassador for Refuge [the domestic abuse charity] so this is something that I feel passionately about: the protection of women and children specifically.
“The interview, whatever you feel about it, was such an important part of exposing this story. And [Sam and Amanda] were integral to that.
“So telling their story felt important to me. And seeing the things that we didn’t know about the interview, like the fact that it was signed off by the Palace, was fascinating to me.”

The Make the world a Refuge short awareness film was released on 9th October
RONNIE rumbles Debbie’s plans to mark his 55th birthday party on tomorrow’s episode of Coronation Street.
Upcoming scenes from the cobbles will see Ronnie Bailey, played by Vinta Morgan enjoying the party.
But the party atmosphere goes down like a lead balloon when Kit Green and a colleague arrive to question him and his brother Ed about the murder of Joel.
Not quite the birthday they planned.
Joel’s body was found floating in the river two weeks after his mysterious disappearance and immediately DS Swain and Kit began an investigation.
A post-mortem revealed that the sinister solicitor was killed by two sharp blows to the head before hitting the water.
The discovery means someone murdered him.
Dee-Dee told her father Ed and uncle Ronnie that Joel was whacked around the head with a crowbar, resulting in his untimely death.
Now Kit, the officer in charge is pursuing every line of enquiry and he believes their motive is to protect their family member who Joel had been terrorising.
Evidence later backs up this when it is discovered that Joel’s address had been inputted into his satnav.
Ronnie explains he last used the satnav when he and Michael helped Joel move out of his flat ages ago.
He insists he was home alone the night Joel went missing, while Ed claims he was at No.3 with Dee-Dee and Michael.
At the party Michael reveals they actually drove to Joel’s flat in his car that time,
As all this unfolds, Debbie realises Ronnie lied to her.

Bradley Branning – Bradley was accused of killing Stacey Slater’s rapist Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb) after he punched him twice on the night he died.
He was spotted in the Square by a police woman who chased him up a fire escape.
Bradley lost his balance and tragically plunged to his death.
CORONATION STREET
Tina McIntyre – Tina was getting it on with Peter Barlow – despite him being married to Carla Connor.
When she threatened to reveal the truth, Carla’s brother Rob got into a physical altercation with her.
Tina lost her footing and fell off a balcony – then warned Rob she was going to tell the cops he pushed her.
In a panic, Rob brutally clobbered her over the head with a metal pipe.
Molly Dobbs – Molly was one of the victims in Corrie’s 2010 tram crash, alongside Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold).
Married to Tyrone (Alan Halsall), Molly had been having an affair with Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) in the months before her death.
This resulted in the birth of their son, Jack (Kyran Bowes), who was named after Jack Duckworth.
As fate would have it, Kevin’s wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) was by Molly’s side in her final moments.
Sally was stunned as Molly confessed Kevin was Jack’s father, before dying of her injuries.
Vera Duckworth – Having appeared regularly in Corrie since the 1970s, there was no denying Vera Duckworth was an iconic character.
Alongside her husband Jack, the pair formed one of the soap’s most beloved couples.
Viewers were heartbroken when Vera was killed off in 2008, being discovered having passed away peacefully in her chair.
Liz Dawn, who played Vera, made a brief return two years later for Bill Tarmey’s exit as Jack.
Paul Foreman – Fans were heartbroken when Paul Foreman succumbed to his illness after battling motor neurone disease.
Introduced in 2018 as David Platt’s (Jack P. Shepherd) cellmate, he later embarked on a romance – and marriage – with vicar Billy Mayhew.
The MND storyline was announced in 2023 – with the expectation it would result in the character’s death.
EMMERDALE
Sarah Sugden – After the family got into financial problems, Sarah’s son Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) decided to make some quick cash from an insurance company by setting fire to the Sugden barn.
He didn’t realise his mum was inside the building, and she got trapped in the blaze.
Nine villagers – The shocking 1993 plane crash episode brought in 18 million viewers for Emmerdale.
Mark Hughes was killed by a falling wall, Archie Brooks was burned by jet fuel, Elizabeth Pollard was killed by debris and newcomer Leonard Kempinski died in a car crash caused by the crash.
Five other non-recurring characters from the village also died.
HOLLYOAKS
Carmel McQueen – The talented singer died in shocking scenes when a train crashed into a her family’s car.
Carmel managed to free her cousin Theresa from the rubble – but got stuck in it herself.
Moments later the train exploded and Carmel died in the arms of her family members, promising to be their guardian angel.
Coronation Street airs Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s at 8pm on ITV1. This episode will be aired tomorrow at 7am.

Bosses at the streaming giant have consigned the animated series to the TV graveyard.
Velma – the Scooby-Doo prequel – has officially been cancelled after its 10-episode second series earlier this year.
The adult series chronicled Velma’s search for her mother who has mysteriously disappeared.

Execs at MAX paid tribute to the show’s stars in an emotional statement to fans.
They said: “Over the past two seasons, Mindy and Charlie have created an incredibly fun and fresh world within the iconic whodunit franchise.
“While we won’t be moving forward with another season of the series, we thank them for their compelling coming-of-age storytelling, unrivaled clues, and hilarious hijinks.”
The Office star Mindy Kaling led the show’s cast, playing the esteemed role of Thelma.
Sam Richardson, Constance Wu and Glenn Howerton also starred in the series.
Despite its axe, fans appear to be elated that the ‘awful’ series won’t be back for a third instalment.
Cheering on social media, one said: “Show was so TRASH how were people liking it.”
A second wrote: “Hate watched the first two or three episodes when Velma premiered and couldn’t believe it wasn’t cancelled then.”
“Thank goodness. This show was a disgrace to the original Velma we all knew and loved,” raged a third.
While a fourth commented: “That’s what they get. Leaving out Scooby was a mistake.”

REAL MADRID have reportedly made contact with William Saliba after making him their top priority for a shock transfer.
The Arsenal star, 23, is widely considered one of the best centre-backs in world football.
His form for the Gunners has seen him cement himself as a regular in the starting XI for France.
And now Los Blancos want to take him to the Bernabeu.
According to Le10Sport, Real Madrid are hoping to follow up the signing of Kylian Mbappe this year by adding his compatriot Saliba next summer.
Saliba joined Arsenal from Saint-Etienne for £27million in 2019 but had to wait until the 2022-23 season to force his way into the side at the Emirates.
Since then, though, he has created a formidable partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes and he started all 38 Premier League games last season, recording a league-high 18 clean sheets.
The 6ft 4ins defender has made his name for being notoriously difficult to beat in one-v-one situations and has managed to keep plenty of the world’s top strikers quiet.
Saliba signed a new contract at Arsenal in July 2023 which runs until the end of the 2026-27 season.
But Real Madrid hope to test the player and the North London club’s resolve by making an approach next year.

The reports in France suggest initial conversations have already taken place to register the LaLiga giants’ interest.
