MAFS expert Charlene responds to Charlie and Eve backlash after controversial marriage ended in tears

MARRIED At First Sight expert Charlene Douglas has responded after the backlash over Eve and Charlie on the show, admitting it was a “difficult watch.”

Eve and Charlie’s marriage was an emotional rollercoaster packed full of rows and trust issues.

And after throwing a dig at Eve earlier this week, Charlie has admitted to The Sun that the former couple no longer speak.

But Eve and Charlie’s relationship has left viewers uncomfortable.

Eve was accused of being a “master manipulator” and for “gaslighting” Charlie, who was shocked that her partner thought she was being a “bully”.

Now, Mafs expert Charlene has had her say.

She said: “It has been really difficult to watch you know.

“I think, as experts, we’re fond of every single contributor, and we want the very best for them, and they all come with their stories, with their past, and it’s not so easy for some of them to rid themselves of their past experiences, or to adopt new behaviours like healthier behaviours in relationships.”

Charlene continued: “And I think what we see with Eve and Charlie is that they tried.

“They really did try, and they had some really lovely moments as well.

“The attraction was there like straight away, but they just couldn’t get past the, I suppose, two different styles of managing conflict.

“For some people they want to deal with it, they want to talk about it, and that’s how they feel resolved, but for others they just shut down.”

Cracks started to show when Eve and Charlie headed off on their honeymoon – which ended in lots of tears, arguments and sleeping in separate rooms.

Their relationship didn’t appear to improve when they got back to the UK – and Eve even refused to move in with Charlie to their new apartment.

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time

Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.

The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.

Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”

Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.

Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.

“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.

“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’

“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”

Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.

Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.

They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.

Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

Tensions reached boiling point when Charlie revealed that Eve had been listening in on her interview after the dinner party.

Charlie fumed at Eve: “You went into my safe space, put your ear against the door in my interview, that you should not have done.

“You took that upon yourself to do that.

“To listen to my interview, after the dinner party, and got your back up because of an action you took.”

Eve asked: “What did I say?”

“You sat in that room and you glared at me like I had done the worst thing in the world,” Charlie replied.

Eve said: “That’s not true.”

Charlie fumed back: “You literally listened into my safe space, MY interview. You took that upon yourself to do that.”

Eve denied this, prompting a frustrated Charlie to ask: “Why is it always my fault?!

“Take some accountability for the mistakes and issues that you’ve made.”

Eve told Charlie to “stop telling lies”.

Expert Paul Brunson told the pair they were going to get to the bottom of what happened.

Charlie started crying hysterically and expert Charlene Douglas told her to breathe.

Expert Mel Schilling then told the pair: “Eve, with respect, you’ve lied on the couch today.”

The couple left the experiment shortly after.

Former England star heartbreakingly reveals he REJECTED Champions League winner’s medal as he ‘didn’t feel part’ of team

CHRIS Kirkland has revealed he never received a Champions League winners medal – despite appearing in Liverpool’s iconic 2005 run.

The former Three Lions goalkeeper will be a guest of honour at this week’s Nations League clash with Greece.

Injury meant the stopper wasn’t in the matchday squad for the final against AC Milan[/caption]

Kirkland hung up his gloves in 2016 following a near two-decade career.

The 43-year-old won a single cap for England in 2006 and played for 10 clubs including Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday, and Coventry.

Kirkland moved from the Sky Blues to Liverpool in 2001, initially as an understudy to Jerzy Dudek.

He took the starting role three years later, before being sidelined by a lingering back injury.

Kirkland played four times in Liverpool’s iconic 2004-05 Champions League campaign.

But he was unable to play in the final, with Dudek getting the start and Scott Carson taking his place on the bench.

Liverpool went on to beat AC Milan on penalties in Istanbul following a dramatic fightback from 3-0 down.

Carson has since revealed he tried to give Kirkland his winners medal, as he had “played more games in the group stages”.

He told The Guardian: “When we got the medals, I tried to give mine to Chris.

“He played more games in the group stages than me. So I felt that he deserved it more.

“But Chris, as anyone who knows him will say, is a really nice lad and he said: ‘No. You were on the bench, you played your part as well.’”

Kirkland will receive an honorary cap from the FA on Thursday as England take on Greece.

According to The Athletic, the goalkeeper “never received the traditional cap to commemorate his international debut” in 2006.

He had also turned down the Champions League medal because he “didn’t feel part of it, sidelined by a back operation and unable to see a future under Rafael Benitez.”

Kirkland’s dad famously landed a 100/1 bet he’d placed while his son was a teenager on him playing for England.

Speaking to the outlet, Kirkland laughed: “If I’d gone into the bookies’ with my dad, and they’d seen me, I’m sure he would have got a lot better odds than 100/1.

“I was very gangly. I wasn’t in the best shape.”

I remember chilling moment I realised my daughter Mairead Philpott killed 6 kids in house fire… it sickens me she’s free

WHEN the charred remains of six innocent children were salvaged from a burning Derbyshire home, sympathy naturally fell with the mother and father left weeping in front of a nation.

But before long, the true horror story behind this nightmare emerged.

Jimmy Duffy is still devastated by the loss of his grandkids and believes his daughter shouldn’t have been released[/caption]

Mick Philpott and his wife, Mairead, were not the grieving parents they sought to portray themselves as, but rather the cold, calculated criminals behind the tragic blaze in May 2012.

Now, just over a decade later, Mairead’s devastated father has blasted the “soft” sentences that have allowed his daughter and accomplice Paul Mosley to be released from jail in recent years.

Speaking to The Sun ahead of a new Channel 5 documentary, Jimmy Duffy also reveals the infamous press conference which first convinced him the warped couple were not as innocent as they pretended to be.

He says: “The charges should have never been dropped to manslaughter.

“It should have been murder, and all three should have gotten a life sentence.”

He adds of his daughter, Mairead: “After the trial, we asked for no contact whatsoever with her.

“To this day, we don’t have any contact.

“She’s out of jail but I don’t know where she is. We don’t really care where she is.

“She needs to be careful because sooner or later someone will realise who she is.

“You can change your name, but you can’t change your appearance.”

Sinister scrounger

Known in his community as a welfare scrounger and unapologetic manipulator, Philpott, 68, lived a life of chaotic excess, controlling two women – his wife and his former mistress, Lisa Willis – under one roof.

Fathering at least 17 kids, the monster saw his children as a means to infiltrate the UK benefits system and grab as much free cash as he could.

But when Lisa tried to escape his grip, taking her children with her, he devised a sickening plan with the help of pal Mosley and his wife.

In a sickening attempt to frame Lisa, the ghouls set fire to the house – situated on a sleepy street of Allenton, Derby – on May 11, 2012.

Duwayne Philpott, 13, his sister Jade, 10, and brothers Jack, nine, John, eight, Jesse, six and Jayden, five, all died in the gut-wrenching arson attack.

Philpott, who hoped to emerge as a hero, was instead unmasked as a father whose depravity knew no limits.

The trio denied their involvement but each was convicted of six counts of manslaughter after a trial at Nottingham Crown Court in 2013.

While Mairead and Mosley have been freed from prison, Philpott could be out in just three years after serving a minimum sentence of 15 years.

Child killer Mick Philpott was sentenced to life in prison and will be eligible for release in 2028

‘God’s gift’

Philpott’s former close friend, Mick Russell, echoes the sentiment of the children’s devastated grandfather.

He says: “The overall sense of the community was that they should all rot in there.

“Philpott should never come out. He should die in prison for what he has done. Nobody is over it yet. We still play it in our minds.

“If you would have met the kids, you would have loved them. They were so nice, playful and cheerful. It’s unbelievable.”

Mick recalls first meeting Philpott after he was released from prison following an assault on his ex-girlfriend.

He says: “When he came out of prison, that’s when his sister introduced me to him. I thought he was alright. He was one of the arrogant ones. He always wanted to argue with people.

“We never had a disagreement or anything like that. We used to go to the pub. He used to love doing karaoke, and we used to have a laugh.”

Even before the tragedy, cowardly Philpott had a history of violence. In the 1970s, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for attempted murder, but he only ended up serving just over three years.

When he was 21, he viciously attacked his former girlfriend with a knife while she lay asleep in bed. He was furious that she had ended their relationship.

When her mother tried to intervene, Philpott attacked her too.

‘Thought he was God’s gift’

Mairead’s father, Jimmy, instinctively felt that Philpott was bad news when his daughter first introduced him to her new partner.

“There was something about him that I just didn’t like,” he says. “He seemed to be a control freak, and everything had to go his way. He was very arrogant. He thought he was God’s gift.”

When Mairead informed him about their wedding, Jimmy felt there was very little he could do to prevent it.

He explains: “I didn’t talk to her about [any reservations].

“She was simply in love with the man, and that was it. She wanted to be with him. So there was nothing I could do to stop her.”

The benefits scrounger lived with his wife, his mistress, and their ten kids[/caption]

When Philpott met Mairead in 2000, she was only 19. They married in May 2003.

The following year, he met 16-year-old Lisa Willis, who became his mistress and bizarrely moved into his council house alongside his wife.

Before meeting both of them, Philpott had already been married and divorced, and had fathered five children by two different women.

Mairead and Lisa lived together with Philpot in the same house – an arrangement that confused Jimmy.

He says: “I didn’t know what to make of it. It’s not like he was good-looking. But he had so many kids.”

Mick says he was taken aback when he went to the family house and saw Lisa for the first time.

He says: “First he had Mairead and one day I went down there and met Lisa. I asked him who she was and he said she was his missus.

“I asked if he really had two women living with him and he started laughing.

“They seemed to get on fine together. They would do things together like go shopping and clean the house. Then, the kids started coming along.”

Mairead eventually had four children with Philpot, while Lisa had four. It soon became apparent that he was using his kids to obtain more benefits.

In 2006, he sparked outrage by asking for a bigger house for himself and his family

He even appeared on an episode of Jeremy Kyle with Mairead. His moniker as ‘Britain’s worst scrounger’ had made him a local celebrity in Allenton.

During that time, Jimmy admits that he only saw Mairead and his grandchildren “every now and then”, but was a doting grandad whenever he visited them at their home.

While he wasn’t aware of the ins and outs of the home, Mick, who always saw Philpott as a loving father, began to notice the way he would treat the two women in his life.

He recalls: “I did not see anything at the beginning. About halfway through one day, I went down there, and something happened.

“He went on one. He didn’t hit the women, but he gave them a right mouthful. A couple of months after that I went over there and Mairead had a black eye.

“Once, Lisa was going to leave, but she never did. When I found out she had finally left, I thought good on her. “

Philpott was infuriated when Lisa left as he knew the benefits he was collecting would now be cut. That was when he came up with the vile plan to exact revenge on his ex-lover.

Jimmy was devastated when he received the horrific news of his grandchildren’s death.

He recalls: “I got a phone call at 5 in the morning and told to get up to the Derby Royal as quick as I could.

“They said there had been a fire at Victory Road. I didn’t know what had happened. When I got up to the hospital, everyone was there, and that’s when I was told what had happened.

“They said the kids had died, and one was still alive. I was dumbfounded. I didn’t know what to say or what to do. I just crumbled against the wall and sat on the ground.”

He was drinking, laughing, joking, and showing off his clothes that all the shops had given him for nothing

But he soon began to notice Philpott’s bizarre behaviour, especially when Mairead went over to hug her father.

“He was talking to somebody, and she came over to give me a hug”, he says. “He shouted, ‘Oi, get back here and back off.’ She went to him. She never said anything to me.”

But Jimmy was not the only one who noticed something was terribly off.

The morning after the fire, Mick rushed to be by his pal’s side at the hospital, but was left confused by his behaviour.

He says: “I thought his behaviour was a bit weird. If it was me who had lost that many kids, and I got another kid dying on the bed, I wouldn’t want to talk to anybody or anything like that.

“But he was joking, trying to chat up the nurses and just going on like a f***ing idiot.

“They put him in a hotel facing the hospital, and my wife and I used to go see him every day. And all of a sudden, he would come out with all of this shopping. He had all these clothes.

“And he somehow seemed to have a pocket full of money. I don’t know where he got the money from, but he had loads of new clothes and lots of money.

“He didn’t seem like a grieving father. If that were me, I wouldn’t want to do anything.”

Tell-tale signs

A few days after kids’ deaths, Philpott called a bizarre conference, which convinced Jimmy and many others that there was more to the story.

He had a long list of people to thank and even announced that he would like to donate his children’s organs as that would make him “happy”.

“At the back of my mind, I thought he had something to do with it”, Jimmy says. “There was not a single tear. He was just tapping his eyes, and there was nothing there.

“I had a feeling my daughter was part of it, too, because whatever he said goes. If it really was him, then she would have been involved. She did what he told her to do.”

In the days following the death, Philpott lived his life like nothing had ever happened. Mick explains: “He was weird. He didn’t seem to be someone who had lost so many kids.

“He was laughing and showing off all his new clothes and he was still going to the pub. It was weird, but I thought everybody deals with their emotions differently. Maybe that’s how he deals with it.

“I couldn’t have gone on the way he did. He was drinking, laughing, joking, and showing off his clothes that all the shops had given him for nothing and flashing all his money.”

But unbeknownst to Philpott, detectives working the case had begun to point the finger of suspicion at him.

Shortly after the deaths, Lisa and her brother-in-law, Ian Cousins, were arrested for the children’s murder – just as Philpott had wanted. They were both released without charge.

His plan was to appear a hero who tried to save the kids, while framing Lisa for the fire.

Aware of how strangely fame-hungry Philpott was behaving, especially as a grieving father, cops bugged the hotel room he and Mairead stayed in.

They gathered evidence that confirmed the couple were involved in the deaths of their children. It was also established that their friend Mosley was an accomplice.

In the police tapes, Mairead was heard performing a sex act on Mosley.

The couple were arrested on suspicion of murder on May 28, 2012 – 16 days after the fire. After cops asked for more time to question them, they were charged with murder two days later.

The following November, Mosley was also arrested and charged with murder. The trio’s charges were later downgraded to manslaughter.

When Jimmy heard the news of their arrest, it confirmed what he had assumed all along.

He says: “Once they were arrested, I thought my instincts were right. They had either done this or hired someone to do it.”

One moment during the trial was enough to solidify his belief that his daughter and son-in-law were guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

“On the second day, the prosecution read out everything and I turned to one of my daughters and said they’ve done this. They’re guilty.”

Family killers

  • Phillip Austin – The Northampton man killed his wife Claire and their children – Kieren, eight and Jade, seven in July 2000. He also killed the family’s two dogs. He was given a life sentence of 20 years in prison after admitting to the murders.
  • Saju Chalavalel – In December 2022, he strangled his wife Anju, and their two children Jeeva, six and Janvi, four while drunk. He said he mistakenly thought she was having an affair and lost control. He was sentenced to life with a minimum term or 40 years.
  • Robert Needham – He shot and killed his wife Kelly and their daughters Ava and Lexi aged four and two at their home in West Sussex during the first Covid lockdown. He later killed himself.
  • Lee Ford – He received a life sentence in 2001 after he killed his wife Lesley and his four step children – Craig, 13, Steven, 14, Anne Marie, 16, and Sarah Jane, 17. The mass murder took place in Carnkie in 2000.
  • Peter Nash – After his wife Jillu began a relationship with a work colleague, Peter Nash killed her and their 12-year-old daughter Louise at their home in Great Waldingfield, Suffolk. He tried to kill himself after the murders. He was sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in jail.
  • Chris Benoit – In 2007, WWE wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his 43-year-old wife Nancy and suffocated his son, Daniel, seven before killing himself at their home in Georgia, US. Cops discovered the bodies after no one was able to get in touch with Benoit.
  • Christian Longo – Over five days in December 2001, the bodies of his wife, son and two daughters were discovered in a water body near their family home in Newport, Oregon. After killing them, he fled to Mexico and said his name was Michael Finkel, who worked as a journalist for the New York Times. He was eventually captured and sentenced to death.
  • Robert William Fisher – In April 2001, the Navy veteran was 39 when he allegedly shot his wife in the head and slit her throat. He did the same thing to their two kids Brittney, 13, and Robert Jr., ten. Cops believe he killed his wife as he thought she was leaving him. He has never been found and remains a fugitive.

Although Mick was initially in shock, the vile facts of the case dawned on him as details of the crime emerged in court.

“It made me feel sick”, he says. “How can you do that to your own children?

“Once I found out the truth, if I could have got my hands on him, I would have killed him myself.

“I never knew he was capable of something like this.”

On April 2, 2013, following an eight-week trial, Philpott, Mairead, and Mosley were found guilty of manslaughter for the deaths of the six children.

Philpott was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years, while Mairead and Mosely both got 17 years.

Many campaigners believed the sentence was lenient. Philpot remains in prison and is eligible for parole in 2028.

‘Innocent’ teen pals ‘chased down & knifed to death by killers armed with fearsome weapons in case of mistaken identity’

TWO “innocent” teens were chased down and stabbed to death with “fearsome weapons” in a case of mistaken identity, a court heard.

Max Dixon, 16, and Mason Rist, 15, were unwittingly embroiled in a “postcode rivalry” in the Bristol suburb of Knowle.

He and pal Mason Rist had been chased down and separated[/caption]

Their alleged killers had wrongly identified them as the culprits of an earlier attack.

They “tooled up” before slaughtering the schoolboys using “fearsome weapons” – including two machetes, jurors were told.

Antony Snook, 45, and Riley Tolliver, 18, and three teenage boys aged 15, 16 and 17, are all jointly charged with murder.

Bristol Crown Court heard Mason and Max were simply walking down the street when they were set upon.

CCTV showed a group jumping from an Audi Q2 and attacking the two teens on January 27.

Both pals attempted to run back towards Mason’s home nearby but were separated as the gang chased them, it was said.

Tolliver and the 15-year-old boy allegedly attacked Mason, while the 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy are said to have chased Max.

Ray Tully KC, prosecuting, said: “The case concerns a double murder. The Crown’s case is that the five defendants who sit in the dock are jointly responsible for killing two young boys.

“Those two young boys were Mason Rist, who was aged 15 at the time of his death, and Max Dixon, who was aged 16 at the time of his death.

“Mason and Max were good friends. On January 27 this year, Max called round to Mason’s home address. It was a Saturday night.

“Almost immediately upon leaving that address, as they walked onto the street they were passed by an Audi A2 car being driven by Antony Snook.

“The other four defendants were passengers in his car when he drove past the two boys.”

Jurors heard the horror came following a postcode “rivalry” between the Knowle West and Hartcliffe areas of Bristol.

Around an hour before the boys were killed, a house in Hartcliffe had been attacked by youngsters hurling bricks through a window and injuring a woman.

At 11pm, Snook, Tolliver and the three teen defendants left the area having “tooled up” with “pretty fearsome weapons”.

They drove from Hartcliffe to Knowle West allegedly “on the hunt” for the people they believed were responsible for the attack on the house.

Mr Tully said: “They set off together, they were on a joint mission, and we say that was for revenge.

“As they drove past Max and Mason walking down the street, they thought they had spotted the people responsible for the earlier attack – or at the very least, people connected to it.

“They were entirely wrong about that. Max and Mason had absolutely nothing to do with any earlier incident and no connection whatsoever with those events.”

The five defendants have denied two counts of murder.

The trial continues.

JLo with her actor ex before their shock split[/caption]

Stripping down to a very racy leopard print outfit, 55-year-old JLo has broken her silence on her turbulent summer that saw her short marriage to her actor ex end.

The A-listers tied the knot in a July 2022 Las Vegas ceremony and had a more extravagant celebration the following month in Georgia.

But Jennifer filed for divorce in August after just two years’ wed.

The newly-single superstar told Interview Magazine: “You’re either growing or dying, and I don’t want to do the dying part.

“When you get to a point where you think that you’ve learned the lessons, and then it blows up in your face again, you realize, ‘okay, I haven’t, so what is it that I need to look at right now?’

“I would say, never stop looking inward, because it’s so easy to blame everybody else.

“You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t. And then, this summer, I had to be like, ‘I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.’

JLO added: “It’s f***ing hard! It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate.

“Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself.

“I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, ‘no, I’m actually good’.”

The exes first struck up a romance in the early 2000s – with their couple name “Bennifer” becoming a defining moment in pop culture.

He proposed in November 2002 with an iconic pink-diamond engagement ring, but eventually called it off in January 2004.

They rekindled their whirlwind romance in the spring of 2021 and went public with the relationship in June of that same year.

Ben popped the question for a second time with a stunning green engagement ring in April 2022.

Jennifer Lopez's relationship timeline

Ojani Noa

Lopez was briefly married to Cuban waiter Ojani Noa. The pair wed on February 22, 1997, but split less than a year later.

Since then, Lopez has endured legal challenges regarding her relationship with Noa, including in 2006 when she sued to prevent him from publishing a book about their marriage.

Sean Combs

While working on her debut album On The 6, Lopez began dating record producer and rapper Sean Combs.

They dated for two years from 1999 to 2001.

Cris Judd

After splitting with Combs, Lopez began to date former backup dancer Cris Judd. They wed on September 29, 2001.

But this too was a brief marriage, as they divorced less than a year later in June 2002, citing irreconcilable differences.

Ben Affleck

Just months after divorcing Judd,  Lopez became engaged to actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck in November 2002.

The pair were due to get married in September 2003 but postponed the wedding indefinitely just a day before the ceremony and then split January 2004.

Nearly 20 years later, the pair made headlines after rekindling their romance in July 2021.

Marc Anthony

Following her heartbreak with Ben Affleck, Lopez started a relationship with her longtime friend, singer Marc Anthony.

She married Anthony in June 2004, and on November 7, 2007, during the final night of their co-headlining tour, the couple announced they were expecting their first child.

Lopez gave birth to twins Emme and Maximilian in February 2008.

But three years later, in July 2011, the couple announced their split and filed for divorce in April 2012. Their divorce was finalized in 2014.

Casper Smart

Between October 2011 and August 2016, Lopez had an on-off relationship with her former backup dancer, Casper Smart.

She then found love with former New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez the following year.

In March 2019, the couple announced their engagement.

Alex Rodriguez

Rodriguez met Lopez 20 years ago when the baseball star asked for the pop star’s autograph and again at New York Yankees game.

It was first announced the couple was dating in March 2017.

On April 14, 2021, the couple released a statement to Today saying that they have ended their two-year engagement.

Robert Griffin III spots moment New York Jets decided to fire Robert Saleh – and it was all down to Aaron Rodgers

ROBERT Griffin III thinks he knows the exact moment when the New York Jets decided they need to fire Robert Saleh.

The Jets dismissed their head coach Tuesday after a poor start to the season.

Robert Saleh was fired by New York on Tuesday after a 2-3 start to the season[/caption]

Saleh paid the price for three defeats in five games and the offense looking off all year.

Former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst RG3 claims he knows when the Jets decided it was time to move on.

He posted a short clip from the Jets’ Week 3 win over the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium.

It featured quarterback Aaron Rodgers walking over to the sideline after a drive and coach Saleh going in for a hug.

Rodgers seemingly pushed him away and glared at the coach as he walked off.

The pair both played down the incident – but it led to more scrutiny on their relationship.

RG3 added the caption, “The Jets fired Robert Saleh. It was more than just a shove.”

Fans and analysts have claimed that Rodgers had greater control of the organization than Saleh.

The coach was also apparently escorted out of the Jets building Tuesday by security after being fired.

A report from NBC’s ProFootballTalk claimed he wasn’t even allowed to say goodbye to his players.

The U.S. Sun contacted the New York Jets for comment on the alleged incident.

Saleh apparently predicted his firing in a press conference four days ago.

The U.S. Sun also revealed that some New York Jets players were left embarrassed by the firing.

The Jets had just returned from London, where they lost 23-17 to the Minnesota Vikings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Jets owner Woody Johnson said in a statement Tuesday, “This morning, I informed Robert Saleh that he will no longer serve as the head coach of the Jets.

Why firing Saleh is the right call

By Ryan Sanudo, sports reporter

The New York Jets stunningly fired Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start to the season, but his resume and recent coaching showings did him no favors.

The Jets had their eyes set on not just being a playoff team, but also a Super Bowl-contending team with the return of Aaron Rodgers and other offensive additions.

But New York sits at 2-3 after consecutive disappointing losses – the first which occurred against the then-winless Denver Broncos while having a 10-day layoff.

The second defeat in London was the final straw for Jets owner Woody Johnson.

Mistakes and penalties have plagued the team on both sides of the ball – and both issues have been a consistent issue for New York in Saleh’s three-plus seasons at the helm.

Saleh has seen his defensive unit play stellar against the pass over the last two seasons, but he has been responsible for hiring the offensive staff that has come under fire.

The 45-year-old Saleh has also appeared to have a dicey relationship with Rodgers, who will always have his say respected.

Remember, Saleh seemed to pin false starts in the team’s loss to the Broncos on Rodgers’ cadence.Saleh’s press conferences haven’t been pretty, either, as he has seemed tense since the Week 4 loss.

And when you factor in Saleh’s results, it’s hard to wrap your head around how he even lasted more than three campaigns.

He went 20-36 over 36 games with the Jets.

The NFL is a what have you done for me lately business and while the timing of Saleh’s firing stunned the world, the decision comes at a time when the New York squad needs motivation ahead of their Monday Night Football game with the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers and company will now be playing under interim head coach and highly respected Jeff Ulbrich, who was the team’s defensive coordinator.

“I thanked him for his hard work these past three-and-a-half years and wished him and his family well moving forward.

“This was not an easy decision, but we are not where we should be given our expectations, and I believe now is the best time for us to move in different directions.

“Jeff Ulbrich will serve as our interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

“He is a tough coach who has the respect of the coaches and players on this team.

“I believe he along with our coaches on this staff can get the most out of our talented team and attain the goals we established this offseason.”

Swift watched on from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium again.

Fans loved her choice of outfit as she arrived at the stadium.
