‘It’s a load of b*****ks,’ fumes Gary Anderson as he rants at lack of ‘respect’ for world’s top darts player

GARY ANDERSON has launched a passionate X-rated defence of world darts number one Luke Humphries.

Anderson, 53, has claimed that Humphries doesn’t get the attention he deserves despite being the best darts player around at the moment.

Humphries has had an exceptional 12 months, rising to the top of the PDC Order of Merit and adding the World Championship and World Cup of Darts to an already glittering CV.

And Anderson reckons that the 29-year-old is often overlooked by many despite earning his spot on top of the pile.

The Scot, who is currently in Leicester fighting for the World Grand Prix title, fumed in his press conference this week.

He ranted: “It’s not just being world champion, what has Luke won over the past two years?

“This is the thing, he has won just about everything since this last year. He’s not just world champion, he’s there for a reason.

“World champion was added onto his CV, he’s won so much more.

“And the boy gets overlooked every time, which I think is a load of b******s.

“He’s deserved everything that he’s worked for, everything he’s got. And talk to the other players [they feel the same]. Rubbish, absolute rubbish.

“Just a little respect, it’s always other people. But Luke goes on you go.

“As long as they’re talking about other people, the limelight’s off of him so he can just carry on what he does. He’s handling it well but deep down he must be cheesed off.”

Fans have agreed with Anderson’s sentiment, suggesting that some of the other players are often prioritised over Humphries despite his success.

On social media one fan wrote: “Littler and MVG are all the pundits faun about so Gary Anderson is spot on”.

While another added: “Well said Gary. Luke Humphries never gets the recognition he deserves for being the world darts champion.”

Anderson was full of praise for his other colleagues too, gushing about his excitement for what’s to come in darts.

He added: “You’ve got Luke Humphries [who is the] best player in the world no doubt. Should do a bit more interviews with Luke because he deserves it.

“What he has won over the last 12-18 months, he deserves it. Luke Littler‘s coming through firing all guns.

“You’ve got Mike de Decker cracking player. Darts is going to be a funny place in the next couple of years.”

Humphries and Anderson have both booked their spot in World Grand Prix last 16 with their matches set to take place over the next few days.

Cool Hand Luke takes on world no.32 Ricardo Pietreczko, while Anderson will face Mike de Decker after showering him with praise.

Zodiac Killer letters: Has the cipher been solved and what does it say?

The Zodiac Killer murdered at least five people and taunted the police with clues and ciphers.

The killer was never caught but he claimed that his identity could be found in the cipher.

Many of the Zodiac’s victims were young people

One of the ciphers was only solved in 2020, decades after it was written.

Here’s everything you need to know about one of the most notorious American serial killers and their secret code.

A decades long mystery

In November 1969, the Zodiac Killer sent a 340-word cipher to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The cipher proved difficult to crack and was left unsolved for decades.

Eventually a team of two software engineers and one cryptographer finally solved it in 2020

The cypher read: “I hope you are having lots of fun in trying to catch me that wasnt me on the TV show which brings up a point about me I am not afraid of the gas chamber because it will send me to paradice.

“All the sooner because I now have enough slaves to work for me where everyone else has nothing when they reach paradice so they are afraid of death I am not afraid because I know that my new life is life will be an easy one in paradice death.”

A second secret

The Zodiac Killer had a second cipher which was delivered in thirds to three San Francisco newspapers.

The 408-symbol cipher was solved in five days, but the translation is filled with misspelled words and has very poor grammar.

The cipher said that the killer enjoyed murder because it was “more fun than killing wild game”.

The cipher also had eighteen letters at the end, which have yet to be decoded, that read: “ebeorietemethhpiti”.

A cold-blooded killer

Ultimately, the mystery of the Zodiac Killer’s identity was never solved and it is still unknown if the killer’s claim that he killed 37 people is true.

Police suspected Arthur Leigh Allan who was a convicted sex offender that worked near the site of the first Zodiac murder.

A police search of his house after he died in 1992 found a wristwatch named Zodiac Sea Wolf which had a logo matching the Zodiac’s symbol.

Another suspect was floated by a group of cold case investigators named The Case Breakers in 2021.

They said that Gary Francis Poste’s name provided a hidden message in the cipher and that Gary’s shoe size matched the killer’s.

Poste was also known for having a violent background and even trained a group of men to become “killing machines”.

Tropicana Field unrecognizable covered in beds and equipment as first responders battle against Hurricane Milton

A BASEBALL stadium in Florida has undergone a transformation into a relief center ahead of Hurricane Milton making landfall.

Tropicana Field in St Petersburg, Florida looked completely unrecognizable from it’s usual baseball setup.

Thousands of beds have been set up on the outfield of the Tampa Bay Rays’ home stadium[/caption]

The stadium is home to the Tampa Bay Rays in Major League, Baseball.

It is located on the western side of the state of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico, which is where Hurricane Milton will make landfall.

And the outfield was covered with beds to host thousands of first responders.

Tropicana Field is domed and has a slanted roof in an attempt to protect it better from hurricanes.

Florida has been bracing for what President Joe Biden has described as possibly the worst storm in 100 years.

The President warned residents to evacuate immediately and that the storm is “a matter of life and death.”

“You should have already evacuated,” Biden told residents in a public address.

“It’s a matter of life and death, and that’s not hyperbole.

“It’s a matter of life and death.

“This could be the worst storm to hit Florida in over a century.

“God willing it won’t be, but that’s what it’s looking like right now.

Biden added that the hurricane is expected to enter Florida on the west and leave on the east “as a hurricane on the Atlantic Coast.”

It is expected to make landfall from the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday evening.

And it will make it’s way through the state overnight before leaving over the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday.

Winds of more than 160mph have been recorded in the Gulf of Mexico.

What is a hurricane and how do they form?

A HURRICANE is another name for a tropical cyclone - a powerful storm that forms over warm ocean waters near the equator.

Those arising in the Atlantic or eastern Pacific are called hurricanes, while those in the western Pacific and Indian Ocean are dubbed typhoons or cyclones.

North of the equator they spin anticlockwise because of the rotation of the Earth, however, they turn the opposite way in the southern hemisphere.

Cyclones are like giant weather engines fuelled by water vapor as it evaporates from the sea.

Warm, moist air rises away from the surface, creating a low-pressure system that sucks in air from surrounding areas – which in turn is warmed by the ocean.

As the vapour rises it cools and condenses into swirling bands of cumulonimbus storm clouds.

The system grows and spins faster, sucking in more air and feeding off the energy in seawater that has been warmed by the sun.

At the center, a calm “eye” of the storm is created where cooled air sinks towards the ultra-low pressure zone below, surrounded by spiraling winds of warm air rising.

The faster the wind, the lower the air pressure at the center, and the storm grows stronger and stronger.

Tropical cyclones usually weaken when they hit land as they are no longer fed by evaporation from the warm sea.

But they often move far inland – dumping vast amounts of rain and causing devastating wind damage – before the “fuel” runs out and the storm peters out.

Hurricanes can also cause storm surges when the low air pressure sucks the sea level higher than normal, swamping low-lying coasts.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said the area affected by winds could double in size by the time it makes landfall.

Tampa’s mayor has warned those who stay in the city could die as 5.5million people have been told to evacuate their homes.

Storm surges of 15ft are expected – swallowing entire houses with water and anyone trying to ride it out inside.

Evacuation orders have closed schools, shut businesses and caused flight cancellations.

The US government’s Federal Emergency Management Agency says it has 20 million meals and 40 million litres of water ready to deploy around Florida.
