Following his one-sided defeat to Chisnall, Menzies expressed his disappointment on social media.

Menzies is currently 44th on the PDC Order of Merit.

The rankings are determined by players’ earning over a two-and-a-half-year period.

Luke Humphries is currently No1 on £1,681,750.

Menzies, meanwhile, is 44th on £139,750.

This year he has shown encouraging signs of progress.

In September he made it all the way to the quarter-finals of the Players Championship, eventually losing out to former world champion Gerwyn Price.

That took the Chiefs 2024-25 NFL season record to 5-0, as Andy Reid‘s side look to win a historic three rings in a row.

With more than three-minutes left of the first-half, Mahomes was driving this side down the field.

It was a close game at 10-7 at the time, and the Chiefs were struggling on third down with 21 yards to go.

The quarterback was looking to get his team into field goal range, to add another three onto their total.

He slung the ball to Kelce, who instead of taking the tackle and getting into range, pulled off a daring play.

The tight end lateraled the ball out to running-back Samaje Perine, who made ten more yards.

He narrowly missed out on a first down, but got them within range of a fourth down, which they went on to complete.

But it was a risky play by Kelce, who had been told by his QB to be safe.

And Mahomes was left shaking his head in the post-game press conference at the incident.

He even compared how talking to the 35-year-old is the same as explaining something to his three-year-old daughter Sterling.

“I’m shaking my head because I told him before the play, I said, ‘I’m gonna throw it to you so we can get in field-goal range’,” Mahomes joked.

“And he underhand shoveled it across the entire field.

“It’s like I’m talking to Sterling.

“That’s Travis, man. He’s a special player.

“As long as he does it and it works, no one’s gonna say anything.”

Perine entered Week 5 having only been with the Chiefs for around six weeks.

But he revealed how the unscripted lateral was a play Kelce had been performing in practice.

“He does that in practice every day,” Perine said.

“He’s always ready. You’ve gotta keep your hand on a swivel.

“It’s like he’s playing backyard football.

“To experience it first hand? It was crazy, but it was fun.”

Fans had mixed opinions on the interaction, with some saying it was genuine and others thinking it was cold.

The drama surrounding Swift and Mahomes comes from their political beliefs, as they two put their support in opposite candidates.

Mahomes previously shared her support for republican candidate Donald Trump while Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris.

The wife of Patrick Mahomes took to her Instagram Story to post a cryptic message last week that some speculated could be about the drama.

Mahomes shared that he won’t use his platform to endorse any candidates this year.

A DIEHARD wrencher who has saved $800 in repairs by fixing his car has been left biting his tongue as his fiancée prefers to take her car to the dealership for service.

David Tracy considers himself a do-it-yourself guy who would rather save thousands on car maintenance by doing the repairs instead of taking it to a dealership.

In his latest post on The Autopian, Tracy described his long determination to save big bucks by buying car parts on Advance Auto Zone for his Jeep.

“For the longest time, I’ve been my own work on my cars,” Tracy declared.

“It’s saved me bundles, and – at least when it’s relatively easy stuff like brakes and wipers and batteries – I quite enjoy the wrenching.”

Tracy explained how his fiancée enjoyed taking her 2017 Lexus EX350 into the dealership for maintenance, something that “kills” the diehard wrencher.

“I don’t protest it. But here’s the thing: Sometimes the dealership suggests expensive repairs that I can do myself for cheap,” he said.

“But I’m starting to get the impression that my fiancée, Elisa (not her real name) would rather just have the dealer do it, especially since my last few repairs haven’t quite gone… swimmingly.”

Tracy described how the last time his fiancée’s Lexus needed to service its brakes, rotors, and wipers, he purchased the best parts from Advance Auto Zone and insisted on fixing it after the dealership quoted them $1,120.70 plus tax.

“$1,120.78 plus tax, so about $1,200 all-in for a basic brake job?! No way,” he said.

“I ordered the best parts I could find from Advance Auto Parts: That only cost me about $400, saving us $800 in total – a total no-brainer.”

He replaced the battery and the car’s windshield wipers with no problem after making some purchases on Amazon.

However, Tracy encountered a problem when he learned it was recommended to install original equipment manufacturer parts on his fiancée’s Lexus instead of parts from Auto Zone.

He said he did a “basic brake job” on his partner’s car with the cheap parts – but 4,000 miles later, Tracy reported the vehicle was “trashed.”

With brake dust on the wheels and a shuddering steering wheel, Tracy also noticed that his online-bought windshield wipers were even leaving streak marks on the car’s glass.

“My two most obvious repairs had failed, and I think Elise wants to go back to just having the dealer do the job. If I were her, I would, too,” he wrote.

“So I’m trying to figure out how to salvage this, because I do think doing our own brake and suspension work is going to save us a bundle long-term.”

Tracy opened the dilemma up to car experts in his comments to weigh in on what he could do to save the car. Readers quickly advised Tracy to take the car to the mechanic.

“It grinds my gears to pay others to work on my car too, but it comes down to this: you can have money or you can have time, but not both. And it’s harder to make time than to make money,” one wrote.

“This will become even more apparent when you become a parent.

“As for parts quality, OEM Lexus/Toyota would be the way to fly. Think about it: Toyotas are some of the most reliable vehicles on the road. Their parts break less. If you have to buy things twice, are you saving any money? At least buy a higher quality, well-reviewed option.

“Also NEVER cheap out on brakes.”

Another agreed, “A few years back I came to this realization. When its a car you have to depend on to get to work, just let the mechanic do it.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Tracy for comment.

A parts store owner recently told The U.S. Sun that OEM parts are the way to go when handling your own repairs – but that there are ways to get cheap parts still.

The veteran mechanic advised buying parts directly from manufacturers instead of auto shops that might mark up the prices.

AROUND 360,000 cars are being investigated for a harrowing brake failure issue that could put drivers at risk of a crash.

A third Ford model is under scrutiny for the same defect that recalled over 1 million parts for the 2013-2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ models.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Office of Defects has announced it’s investigating defective brake hoses in 368,309 Ford Edge crossovers from 2015 to 2017.

At least 36 drivers have complained about the hoses leaking, which can put them at risk of crash.

If a hose leaks, the brakes will be “softer” and take longer to stop the car.

Affected drivers also found the issue can start at any moment without warning.

It’s the same problem that safety officials found in 1.2 million other Ford models in March 2023.

The brake hoses in those cars were recalled, and Ford urged drivers to contact their closest dealer for a replacement.

As of now, the NHTSA is investigating the Edge models to “determine the scope and severity of the alleged problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related consequences.”

Ford hasn’t issued a recall for this latest potential issue but said it’s cooperating with the NHTSA and assisting in their investigation.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Ford for comment on the probe.

FORD RECALLS

Car Scoops reports that Ford had issued 31 recalls by the halfway point of 2024, which resulted in 3,660,752 cars needing urgent changes.

At the end of September, the American brand recalled 144,000 trucks due to a dangerous gitch that affected the backup camera.

In June, 550,000 F-150s were recalled because of a terrifying technical error that caused trucks to automatically shift into first gear.

Ford drivers were urged to take their cars to the mechanic shop and get the issue fixed.

Car recalls are fairly common, so drivers should stay current on any news about their rides.

If your car is recalled, it’s important to read the entire notice and determine what needs to be replaced.

Then, contact your local dealership to hear your options for finding a safer ride if the issue cannot be fixed quickly.

To check whether you own a recently recalled car, you need only the VIN number.

Then, plug the number into the NHTSA’s VIN checking tool.

The tool also allows drivers to see whether or not the repair was completed within the last 15 years.

If a recall is issued by the NHTSA, that means repairs or replacements will be free for drivers.

“But if that is not decided by next September we will try to get an arrest warrant for Maddie.

“That will be our only chance to keep him behind bars.

“I can’t say if we have enough right now, but it is a question we will answer next year because the investigation is still ongoing.

“The verdict today has no impact on the Maddie case. They are totally separate.”

He added: “We have witnesses no one knows about.

“I can’t say which witnesses we have, but we have more witnesses than the two or three from this current case.”

Until now a drifter and an ex-cell mate appeared to be the only witnesses, both alleging Brueckner confessed to them.

Counting the days to freedom

Yesterday Brueckner, in jail for the rape of a US pensioner, was acquitted of three further counts of rape and two counts of ­indecent exposure.

The ruling left him counting the days to freedom, despite a psychiatrist rating him as “top league of dangerousness”.

Explaining the appeal, prosecutor Wolters told The Sun: “The supreme court have the power to order a retrial with new judges.

“We believe we have enough evidence Christian Brueckner is guilty and we believe the court will see the judges here have ­misinterpreted the evidence.”

Mr Wolters went on: “We believe one of the judges had made their minds up before the case even started.

During the trial Brueckner was accused of breaking into a flat in Portugal.

An Irish woman, then aged 20, said she was raped by a masked man — and identified Brueckner by his “piercing eyes”.

He was cleared of that, and separately of raping a girl of 14 and an elderly British woman.

The Jets, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers performing far below his best, have dropped the last two games, and early-season optimism about reaching the Super Bowl is quickly evaporating.

Saleh has paid the ultimate price for the inconsistent start – with one front office member telling The U.S. Sun his axing was “tough but the right thing to do.”

“For some of us, he should have been fired last season, and we should have started on a new coaching cycle during the past offseason,” said the board member who spoke anonymously.

“We were being stagnant, at least, even not progressing as a team, so it was a logical decision because, in my opinion, we have a very solid roster.”

The current player, however, blames some teammates who “keep on speaking s**t” to each other and are not pulling in the same direction.

Johnson’s brutal sacking of Saleh, who had one year left on his current deal, is the first time the Jets have changed coaches during the season since 1976.

But the key roster member says the locker room is full of cliques, and some players only look out for themselves.

He believes the decision to send Saleh packing was a “cold move” but wants the Jets’ struggling stars to stand up and take their share of the blame.

“I have a massive respect for coach Saleh, and I feel bad that he got fired as he tried everything he could to make the best out of this team,” said the star, who also spoke, providing he remained anonymous.

“The responsibility of the bad start is also because of us too, the players, as we haven’t found the best chemistry yet, and some guys who are stars are being too selfish and don’t want to put their egos on the side for the best interest of the team.

“It’s quite embarrassing. Some players can’t even look at themselves in the mirror.”

The arrival of NFL legend Rodgers at the start of last season boosted generations of Jets fans who have never stopped dreaming of seeing the beloved boys in green return to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1969.

But once Rodgers injured his Achilles in the first game, everything went downhill in typical Jets fashion.

This season, they have gone 2-3 through the first five games, with Rodgers needing more consistency.

Saleh leaves with an unimpressive 20-36 record—he has been replaced in the interim by defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich—and the player reckons that despite the roster’s underperformance, the front office needs to shoulder some blame, too.

“I had some former players that texted me since the news broke, and they feel bad for coach Saleh, but some aren’t surprised as they didn’t trust the board to be competent, that is why most of them left in the last few seasons and last offseason too,” he added.

“We have to do better ASAP, or we are going to hit a wall hard, and the consequences will be very disappointing for all of us, the board, and mostly, the fans.”

“Jeff Ulbrich is a great coach; there’s going to be a lot of pressure on him,” said a front office member.

“It’s a big challenge because we expect him to do great with the team and change the current dynamic, but we must step up our game and reach our expectations as we believe our roster is pretty competitive.

“It wasn’t a good look in the last few weeks.

“We have been playing at a disappointing level but need to bounce back urgently.”

“As a fan, I’m happy with the move,” said Jets lifetime supporter Mike Satz.

“Saleh’s record was 20-36, the team is very talented and has underachieved.

“They don’t seem prepared on a weekly basis and hoping Ulbrich will create a spark.”
