‘Is he ok?’ ask fans as Liam Payne posts rambling Snapchat video talking about celeb mates

LIAM Payne has sparked concern with his fans after posting a rambling Snapchat video, with one asking, “Is he ok?”.

The One Direction star’s recent behaviour has caused some of his inner circle to worry he’s “spiralling out of control”.

Posting on Snapchat from his bed, Liam revealed he was going to see fellow 1D star Niall Horan in concert in Argentina.

Looking tired, he then started rambling that him and his friend “needed to talk”.

Speaking to the camera, Liam told fans: “Niall Horan’s playing down there (Argentina) and I think we might just go and say ‘Elloooo!”

He then went on: “No bad vibes or anything like that, but we need to talk!”

Commenting on the video, one fan said: “Is he okay? Like genuinely?”

This one was concerned: “I hope Liam has people who care about him around him.”

Liam’s Snapchat comes after his friends shared with The Sun they feared the singer is “spiralling out of control”.

A source said: “Liam’s behaviour has been concerning many in his inner circle for months.

“For a while things seemed to be looking up for him but over the past year there are fears he is spiralling.

“He’s no longer around some of his old friends as he’s relocated to America to start a new life out there which means many of those who are around him are ‘yes men’.

“Everyone wants the best for him but things are erratic to say the least.”

Meanwhile, the mystery surrounding a famous story about a fight between Liam and one of his fellow One Direction bandmates has been solved.

During an appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive in 2022, Liam revealed there was once an argument backstage that erupted into violence, with one of his former bandmates pinning him against a wall.

Since then, fans have been theorising over who out of Niall, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik or Harry Styles it was, with Liam kipping zipped about the assailant.

Now, duetting a video from a Directioner, Liam’s ex-Maya Henry finally put the mystery to bed.

She said: “I see this all the time, everywhere, I’ve heard this insufferable story so many times.

“He told me it was Zayn, so…”

However, neither Liam or Zayn have confirmed if this is true or not.

Powerball warning as $100,000 prize remains unclaimed and ticket was sold at a popular gas station

LOTTERY officials have urged players to double-check their tickets with a six-figure prize pot still unclaimed.

If the unidentified winner doesn’t come forward soon, they could miss out on the life-changing money.

The funds will vanish if the unidentified player doesn’t come forward in time[/caption]

Residents of Arkansas who bought Powerball slips for the drawing on October 5 should quickly look again at their numbers.

The selected digits were revealed as 02, 12, 46, 52, 65, and a red Powerball of 03.

That means the winner earned a Match 4 Plus Powerball, missing only one white ball, and the jackpot prize.

They also elected a $1 Power Play option, which doubled their prize pot from $50,000 to $100,000.

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) officials confirmed the winning ticket was bought at an Exxon gas station in Mena, about 133 miles west of Little Rock on the western half of the state, per NBC affiliate KARK.

Sharon Strong, ASL’s executive director, emphasized that they were “thrilled” to hear of the $100,000 win while speaking to the outlet.

“Our players are at the heart of what we do at the lottery, and we’re looking forward to when the lucky winner claims their prize,” Strong added.

In Arkansas, players have a 180-day window to claim prizes.

DEADLINE DOOM

That means the ticket will expire on April 3, 2025.

Assuming that’s the case, the $100,000 prize money will be forfeited.

It will instead return to the state’s general fund and be redistributed to assist residents through various programs.

Should the unidentified player realize their $100,000 win in time, they must sign the back of the ticket and head in person to a claim center in Little Rock or submit it by mail.

It’s advised that players coming in person book appointments in advance to avoid delays and take advice from financial planners about how to distribute the funds appropriately.

The player must also make a crucial decision on how to receive the cash.

Lottery winnings: lump sum or annuity?

Players who win big on lottery tickets typically have a choice to make: lump sum or annuity?

The two payout methods can impact how much money you get from your prize.

Annuities pay out slowly in increments, often over 30 years.

Lump sums pay all at once but in a smaller amount, as taxes are withheld in one go. That means 24% of your prize goes to Uncle Sam right away. Many states tax winnings as well.

Annuities can provide winners time to set up the financial infrastructure required to take in a life-changing amount of money, but lump sums have the benefit of being taxed only once.

Inflation is also worth considering when making a choice, as payouts do not adjust with the value of a dollar. That means that you’ll likely be getting less valuable money towards the end of an annuity.

Each state and game pays out prizes differently, so it’s best to check with your state’s lottery to confirm payment policies. A financial advisor can also help you weigh the pros and cons of each option.

Experts have varying opinions on whether to take the lump sum or take the annuity.

NOW OR LATER?

They can either get it all at once through a one-time lump sum distribution or spread through annuity payments over several years.

Most select the lump sum, which is hit with taxes.

The federal government imposes a 24% tax on all lottery winnings over $5,000.

Arkansas can decide its own rate and currently sets it at 4.4%.

That means about $28,400 will be taken out of the Powerball prize, leaving the player walking away with around $71,600.

Another player in Arkansas will also encounter a similar situation if they come forward in time to claim a $1 million prize bought at Casey’s gas station in Springdale.

Top five cities with plunging mortgage rates as expert says more homeowners will become ‘unlocked’

Sky high pandemic-era mortgage rates are falling across the country, according to new data, but some homeowners will feel the relief more than others.

Fresh research from Realtor.com published today found Denver, Raleigh, North Carolina, Washington, DC, Virginia Beach and Baltimore will benefit significantly from declining rates over the next few months.

Realtor.com
Realtor.com’s economist Jiayi Yu says cities with a higher portion of mortgage holders will benefit more from declining rates[/caption]

Markets including West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana and New Mexico will benefit less from falling mortgage rates[/caption]

However, housing markets in West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico and Arkansas will benefit less from falling rates because a higher portion of homeowners in these states own their own homes outright.

In general, markets with greater usage of mortgages are more sensitive to rate changes.

Realtor.com economist Jiayi Yu said a higher portion of homeowners in some parts of the country will also be “unlocked” as rates fall closer to 6%.

“Notably, according to our analysis, 84% of existing mortgages have a rate of 6% or lower,” Yu told Realtor.com.

“In other words, as mortgage rates approach the 6% level, we can expect to see more homeowners ‘unlocked,’ especially in areas with high mortgage usage.”

Homeowners were “locked in” during the pandemic after they bought homes at record low interest rates as it did not make financial sense to buy another home at a higher interest rate.

As mortgage rates fall, economists project there will be an increasing number of houses coming onto the market.

According to Realtor.com’s September Housing Market Report, there were 34% more homes for sale than a year ago, a sign that falling rates might be helping the market bounce back.

Among the top 50 metro areas, homeowners in Washington, DC will benefit from the impact of lower rates given the high number of mortgages.

According to data from Realtor.com, 74.7% of homeowners in 2023 in DC lived in housing units with a mortgage.

As the Federal Reserve looks to slash rates further, housing experts project renting will become more affordable across the country.

Housing costs are expected to drop within three months, according to economists, who exclusively told The U.S. Sun last week that the rate cut will stimulate the economy and make things more affordable for consumers.

Housing experts said that while the rate cuts will take some time to work their way into the economy, the rate-cutting cycle will likely put downward pressure on the cost of living.

While rents are rising in some parts of the country, CoreLogic research recently reported by The U.S. Sun revealed rents have started to fall in Austin, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona slipping 1.1% and -0.8% respectively.

By comparison, eight metro areas in the US posted gains of 4% with Washington D.C topping the country for the annual rent growth chart.

SUPPLY SQUEEZE

Announcing the recent rate cut in September, Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell noted that the Fed rate cut would help thaw the frozen housing market which had kept many homeowners locked in their homes.

The Fed cut interest rates by half a percentage point last month, a move that marked the first time the central bank had cut rate since 2020.

Mortgage rates had already begun to ease in anticipation of the Fed rate cut.

“As rates come down, people will start to move more, and that’s probably beginning to happen already,” Powell said in September.

But Powell also warned the housing market was constrained by a lack of supply which was beyond the direct control of the Fed.

“It’s hard to zone lots that are in places where people want to live. And you know, where are we going to get the supply?” he noted.

“And this is not something that the Fed can can really fix. But I think as we normalize rates, you’ll see the housing market normalized.”

‘Difficult’ Meghan Markle is a ‘fake friend who leaves her pals for DEAD… they’re fed up with her’, expert says

MEGHAN Markle has “alienated a lot of former friends” and “cuts them dead” if they upset her, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex was recently seen attending the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital Gala on Saturday.

At the bash on Saturday Meghan was seen greeting young fans and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Demi Lovato and The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco.

But royal author Ingrid Seward has now claimed that the Duchess of Sussex “cut dead” a number of her pals.

She exclusively told The Sun: “Well, I think that Meghan has managed to alienate a lot of her former friends.

“She does something which is very distressing for people. She actually sort of just cuts them dead and ghosts them, as it’s called.

“But to me, it’s just called cutting them dead and not wanting to see them anymore.

“And if they upset her, that’s what she does and it’s very difficult to deal with somebody like that.

“I think that people are just fed up with Meghan.”

Ingrid added: “The point is that people are starting to be actually, you know, speak out about being unhappy with the the way that Meghan is.

“She was all smiles at one stage, and now she just looks different, and it doesn’t look real.”

Meghan’s former friend, British socialite Lizzie Cundy, 56, who also attended the same event claimed the Duchess needs Los Angeles more than the city needs her.

Lizzie previously claimed that Meghan “ghosted” her, cutting off all contact, once she became engaged to Prince Harry.

Ingrid added that after watching a video of the Duchess at the event, it looked like she was “posing for the camera” during the hospital visit.

“It did look very much as though she was just posing for the camera. She didn’t look like she was really involved in what she was doing,” Ingrid explained.

According to Ingrid, Meghan stayed long enough to be snapped in a few photos before she left.

The royal author continued: “She looked as if she was striking out on her own in a purposeful way.

“But if she only ever stayed for the pictures, which apparently she did, that’s counterproductive because she’s already got some bad publicity for just appear appearing and smiling and then disappearing.

“And that’s from people that were actually physically there.”

Meghan and Jessica Mulroney were also considered close friends.

Jessica’s three children were even pageboys and bridesmaid at Meghan’s 2018 Windsor wedding.

But the pair fell out two years later when Jessica was embroiled in a race row with Black Canadian lifestyle blogger Sacha Exeter.

Jessica issued two public apologies, but Meghan is believed to have kept her distance.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'are living separate lives'

By Jon Rogers and Summer Raemason

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are ‘going their own ways’ as they increasingly live ‘separate lives’, royal experts told The Sun.

Speaking on our first ever Royal Exclusive Live show, Arthur Edwards and Jennie Bond lifted the lid on the power couple’s recent time apart.

Sun legend Arthur revealed how the pair are ‘doing things separately now’ after failing to be spotted together in three weeks.

Meanwhile Ms Bond, a royal correspondent for the last 35 years, also revealed: “Meghan is not popular. She doesn’t want to come back and they are going their own ways, to some extent”.

The pair spoke on our first Royal Exclusive Live show, which you can watch on our YouTube channel.

The event was hosted on Friday night in front of a live audience of more than 100 special guests.

Mr Edwards said: “I don’t think she [Meghan] can come here much.

“I don’t think people think too much of her.

“I think she’s struggling in popularity in the UK and I think they seem to be doing things separately now. She’s got her programme and he’s got his.

Mr Edwards added: “He comes into Britain now with no fuss.

“He’s come for the Invictus Games, in and out with no fuss, he came for his uncle’s funeral, no fuss.”

Royal commentator Jennie Bond said: “The point is he doesn’t want to come back [into the Royal Family in the UK], I think.

“He regarded it as a trap. He still thinks his father and his brother are trapped and he’s finding his own way.

    “All credit to him.

“I think Meghan has her own independent style and way of life.

“Yes, it’s not in tune with the people in the UK.

“She’s not popular and I don’t think she wants to come back and therefore they are going their own ways, to an extent.

“But I hope and believe that Harry is very happy in his life.”

This comes after it was revealed Harry spent the night of his milestone 40th birthday without Meghan as rumours continue to swirl.

The Duke went on a hiking trip with pals to celebrate his big day – and failed to mention his wife, 43, in his birthday thanks message.

Although sources close to the couple insist it was Meghan who organised the lads’ trip, experts warned it could be a key sign things are not so rosy.

Their separate plans, followed by Harry’s solo trips across the past few weeks, has sparked speculation surrounding their relationship.

The Duke attended at a string of events in New York unaccompanied by his wife.

Harry appeared on his own at an event for the Halo Trust – a landmine charity which was close to Di’s heart.

He was also pictured without Meg during a high-level dinner organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Big Apple.

Their separate appearances also included his surprise TV stint and tour of a haunted maze on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

The Duchess of Sussex’s representatives have been contacted for comment.

Trump ‘secretly sent Putin Covid tests’ during the pandemic & ‘called him at least 7 times’ since leaving White House

DONALD Trump sent Vladimir Putin Covid tests during the pandemic with the tyrant pleading to keep the handout a secret, claims an investigative journalist.

The Republican nominee, 78, is even said to have phoned up his Russian dictator pal seven times in the years since he lost the US election.

    AP
Trump and Putin have shared seven phone calls together since Trump left the White House[/caption]

Veteran US reporter Bob Woodward claims in his new book that Trump “secretly sent Putin a bunch of Abbott Point of Care Covid test machines for his personal use” at the start of the pandemic in 2020.

A grateful yet paranoid Putin reportedly responded to the gift by telling his US ally: “I don’t want you to tell anybody.

The famed Watergate reporter says Trump nonchalantly replied: “I don’t care. Fine.”

Before Putin replied: “No, no. I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you not me. They don’t care about me.”

Throughout the pandemic the US and Russia were known to share medical supplies under Trump’s government such as ventilators.

But a personal deal between the pair around Covid testing machines would have likely caused issues and sparked controversy.

Woodward has also revealed how the political pals remained close even after Trump lost to current president Joe Biden and Putin launched his horror invasion of Ukraine.

The pair have shared up to seven private phone calls all while Biden spent his four years in power condemning Russia.

No, no. I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you not me. They don’t care about me

    Vladimir Putinspeaking to Trump

All while sending Ukraine billions in cash to aid their war against Putin.

Earlier this year, Woodward even says that Trump ordered his personal aide to leave his office at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, so he could jump onto a call with Vlad.

Trump’s representatives have denied any phone calls have taken place with Putin.

Steven Cheung, Trump’s communications director, said: “None of these made-up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man.”

Trump’s close ties to Putin have been evident even in the build up to the 2016 US election where he beat out Hilary Clinton.

U.S. intelligence agencies determined that Russia had meddled in the election process in favour of Trump.

But no connection was ever made accusing Trump’s team of conspiring with Russia.

During his reign in the White House Trump managed to keep Russia on side and kept Putin at bay.

After losing to Biden four years ago, Russia’s stance on the US drastically changed as they launched their invasion on Ukraine and slammed the West.

Trump has remained critical of the support given to Ukraine by the US and also called the Russian leader pretty smart for the invasion.

Many believe due to these remarks that a second Trump presidency could leave Ukraine vulnerable and underfunded without US weapons and cash boosts.

Despite this Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has insisted that he and Trump agree that “Putin can’t win”.

None of these made-up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man

    Steven CheungTrump’s communications director

It came after the fractious pair met for tense talks that may decide the fate of the war last month.

It was the first time they have met since 2019.

Woodward’s new book War is set to reveal many well-kept secrets on the state of US politics across the Biden administration.

Also touching on Israel’s year-long battles in the Middle East and the raging war in Europe involving Putin.

It is due to be released next week with exerts already being released by Woodward’s two employers CNN and the Washington Post.

Other topics in the book focus on Biden and his foreign policies – especially concerning his opinions on international leaders.

In one passage Woodward claims the president said: “Putin is evil. We are dealing with the epitome of evil.”

It is unclear what happened to provoke the comments from the usually subdued Biden.

Woodward also says that in October 2021, US intelligence provided “conclusive” evidence that Putin planned to invade Ukraine in a few months, according to CNN.

Biden reportedly responded to CIA director Bill Burns at the time: “Jesus Christ! Now I’ve got to deal with Russia swallowing Ukraine?”

The president reportedly also blasted Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu after several attempts at a US-designed ceasefire in Gaza were rejected by Israel.

Woodward claims Biden called him “a son of a b****” and “a bad f***ing guy!”

Costco gold bars sell out within a week in 46 states after restock – despite expert warning about ‘unsafe’ investment

COSTCO’S gold bars are flying off the shelves after the wholesale retailer recently restocked the precious metal.

A majority of stores in 46 states sold out of the one-ounce bars just a week after Costco restocked, according to a recent survey.

    Costco
The one-ounce gold bar is sold on Costco’s website[/caption]

The gold bars have stayed popular since they sold out in a few hours when they first went on sale last year.

Around 77% of Costco stores in 46 states sold out of the $2,699.99 bars in the first week after restocking, according to a survey by Bloomberg.

Costco has since released silver coins and platinum bars as part of their precious metals lineup while doomsday preppers rush to get their hands on the items, which could serve as bartering tools at the end of the world.

However, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission warned that gold isn’t a “safe” investment.

“Like other commodities, precious metal prices rise as demand goes up, so when economic anxiety or instability is high, the people who typically profit from precious metals are the sellers,” the CFTC said in an advisory.

“The truth is gold and other precious metals are highly volatile and past performance is not a good predictor of future returns.

“If sales pitches also include a lot of doom-and-gloom or high-pressure sales tactics, they could be setting you up for fraud.”

Worries of fraud haven’t stopped Costco customers, who topped a $100 million profit in the retailer’s first fiscal quarter with gold bar sales.

In April, Wells Fargo estimated that Costco sold up to $200 million per month in precious metals.

David Wagner III, head of markets and equities at Aptus Capital Advisors, told NewsNation that people turn to metals to prepare themselves for the fall of the US dollar.

“If someone’s going out to buy gold, that means they think that there’s some type of instability at the structural level of the market and/or the government itself,” Wagner said.

Worries about society’s instability grow with recent tech outages and natural disasters.

Jonathan Rose, the CEO of Genesis Gold Group, told The U.S. Sun earlier this year that wealthy people usually hoard gold to prepare for the end of life as we know it.

“I think these people are realizing that, hey we don’t have a crystal ball per se, but we have a good road map and they are looking at the problems the economy is having right now,” Rose said.

Who is hoarding gold and why?

Gold expert Jonathan Rose, the CEO of Genesis Gold Group told The U.S. Sun who is hoarding and the benefits of it

    • Wealthy Individuals and Elites: Millionaires, tech executives like Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman, and pro athletes are among those hoarding gold for doomsday preparations.
    • Concerns Over Economic Collapse: The surge in gold purchases is fueled by fears of the devaluation of the dollar and an overall economic downturn.
    • Prepping for Various Scenarios: The current surge in gold purchases is attributed to concerns ranging from the 2024 presidential election to recent AT&T power outages, which some fear were cyber attacks.
    • Role of Gold in Bartering: Gold is seen as a valuable asset for bartering in a doomsday scenario, where traditional currency may lose its value.
    • Preference for Small Denomination Coins: Buyers are increasingly seeking small-denomination gold and silver coins, which are considered more tradable and easier to barter with.
    • Gold as a Tradable Currency: In a doomsday situation, gold is perceived as a more reliable currency than paper money, capable of securing essential goods and services.
    • Gold as a Symbol of Value: In times of crisis, gold holds significant value as a tangible asset, prompting individuals to stockpile it for potential future use.

“Whether they’re looking at dollar devaluation or these things called brick nations, which are countries banding together to create their own currency backed by gold.

“And with the dollar losing its value, there’s just the general economic concern of combating inflation and that’s why many people will move to a safe haven,” he explained.

Rose told The U.S. Sun that gold bars like the ones sold at Costco, could be broken like “candy bars” to be bartered with in the future.

The CFTC said that banks and other big investors also buy gold and other assets like oil to prepare against inflation and “other economic risks.”

“Some investment advisers may even recommend that individual investors put small percentages of their diversified portfolios in precious metals too,” the agency said.

“But that doesn’t mean that gold or silver or other metals are ‘safe’ places to park your wealth.”

Costco told The U.S. Sun that shoppers can check the store’s online site to see when the gold bars are back in stock.

My car was recalled months ago but company still doesn’t have a fix for it – I’m paying for a vehicle I can’t drive

A FURIOUS driver has been waiting months to get her car fixed, after getting a recall notice back in February.

Charlotte Shocki learned her Honda SUV had a fuel pump issue six months ago, but the company still doesn’t have a repair for it.

    WSOC

She has been waiting six months for a new part for her Honda[/caption]
    WSOC
Charlotte says she’s been left in a ‘Catch-22’[/caption]

The letter in February told Charlotte the issue could “prevent an engine from starting,” or even cause it to “stall while driving.”

Now, the driver from Lancaster, South Carolina, says she faces a “Catch-22” – either drive a potentially unsafe car or wait until whenever the new part is ready.

“Not happy,” she told ABC affiliate WSOC-TV. “It sounded like a serious recall.”

She added that the fuel pump issue “Could cause an accident, cause serious injury, not only endanger the person driving the car but, as far as I’m concerned, also endanger others on the road.”

The most frustrating part of the letter was that it said even though her car had a potentially deadly fault, there was no timescale for when the fix would be ready.

“What am I supposed to do?” she said. “Not drive the car from February until they get the part?

    “It’s really a Catch-22.”

Under federal law, car companies have five days to report safety issues to drivers.

But this doesn’t mean the repairs are on the same scale.

Charlotte says she received a second letter a few months ago.

That letter implied the remedy was now available but on a limited basis.

Charlotte is hoping for a third letter telling her it’s her turn for a repair will arrive soon.

In a statement, Honda said, “American Honda is working to resolve all replacement part backorders as soon as possible, and we regret any inconvenience that our customers may experience due to these delays.

“Since each delayed replacement part may face different supply challenges, we recommend working directly with local authorized Acura and Honda dealers to ensure that appropriate priority is placed on critical part orders.

If a customer has concerns beyond the dealer’s immediate ability to respond, then customers are encouraged to contact Acura Client Relations (for Acura owners) or Honda Automobile Customer Service (for Honda owners) to determine if any additional assistance is possible.

“Each customer inquiry will be addressed by our customer service professionals on a case-by-case basis appropriate to the circumstances.”

How can I check if my car is part of a recall?

If you own a car that's been recently recalled, you can easily check your VIN.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) makes it incredibly quick and easy for drivers to check and see if their vehicle is part of a recent (or past) recall.

The VIN checking tool also allows drivers to see whether or not the repair was completed within the last 15 years, making it an incredible tool for buyers of used cars.

All recalls initiated by the NHTSA mean free repairs for drivers, even if it’s an engine or a transmission replacement. If your VIN shows an active recall that has not been repaired, it’s important to make an appointment at your nearest dealership.

Here’s how to make an appointment for a recall:

    1. Look up your VIN using the NHTSA tool.
    2. Find out the recall number/ID from the manufacturer.
    3. Call your nearest dealership’s service center with the ID number handy, and mention you’d like to schedule an appointment to repair the recall. The repair can only be done at a dealership, as they’re authorized by the manufacturer to conduct the repair free of cost using genuine parts.
    4. Try to make the appointment as soon as possible.
    5. Once the repair is completed, the dealership will update the information associated with the VIN to reflect it’s been completed.

Altogether, 2.6 million vehicles were affected by the Honda recall.

That includes 21 different models made between 2017 and 2020.

Even if your vehicle isn’t listed, drivers should be checking their VIN on-site to see if there are any recalls on it.

Speaking to CBS affiliate WFMY, Patrick Olsen of Carfax explained why he believes drivers should stay on the road until the new parts are in.

“If you’re driving your Honda and you’ve not had problems with stalling or not getting enough fuel to your engine, for me I’d keep driving it,” he said.

“I wouldn’t let the concept of potential failure years from now keep you from driving today.”

Sam Mendes is directing four films, telling the band’s story from each member’s perspective[/caption]

Now, insiders say he has been chosen by director Sam Mendes for four films, telling the Liverpool band’s story from each member’s perspective.

A source said: “Joe is an incredible actor.

“It’s a massive role, but Sam is delighted to have him on board.”

The project marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd and The Beatles — Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George — have granted full life-story and music rights for a scripted film.

George died from lung cancer in November 2001, aged 58.

Recordings of him playing guitar were used on The Beatles most recent single, Now And Then, which went straight to No1 in the UK charts after it was released last November.

Joe has already won major film roles including A Quiet Place: Day One and Gladiator II.

He also plays Human Torch in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is out next June, and will reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars the following year.

Liam Payne’s second album ‘on ice’ after ‘struggling’ star hit by major career blow

HE was once seen as one of the most promising members of One Direction, hot on the heels of superstar Harry Styles.

But despite his solo career getting off to a bumper start thanks to Ed Sheeran penning his hit Strip That Down, Liam Payne‘s career now appears to be going off course.

We have been told plans to release his long awaited second album – his first since 2019’s LP1 – have been quietly put on ice after his first single from the record, Teardrops, failed to chart back in March.

To make things harder for Liam, his day-to-day manager is no longer working with him after parting ways earlier this year.

Those closest to Liam are concerned he has been left floundering, with no one watching out for him.

A friend said: “Things are tough for Liam at the moment.

“His former manager Roger stepped back earlier this year. He was a steady hand for Liam and he appears to be struggling without his guidance.

“Things have started to seem slightly erratic, with plans being made before they are cancelled last minute.

“Liam had been doing really well on his second album but now it’s completely on pause. Liam is telling people now he has no idea if it’ll ever be released.”

The latest blow to his album comes just weeks after music insiders told us a planned documentary about Liam’s struggle with growing up in the spotlight had been shelved.

The film was going to chart Liam’s well-documented tussle with the trappings and fame and fortune.

In June 2021 he opened up about struggling with drink and drugs and admitted he was shocked after seeing pictures of himself, adding: “I was all bloated out. I call it my pills-and-booze face.”

He checked himself into a rehab facility the following year and last summer he proudly said he was 100 days sober and was busy working on new projects.

Liam said: “I was having a drink, and I thought, ‘You know what, this isn’t really serving me at all, I don’t really need this right now,’

“It’s the first time I’ve ever put a drink down and gone to someone else, ‘You finish this, I don’t need this right now.’

“And I haven’t picked one up since, which has almost been six months.

He added: “I feel like I’ve got more of a grip on life now and everything that was getting away from me, I just feel like I’ve got more of a handle on it.

“I just needed to take a little bit of time out for myself actually because

“I kind of became somebody who I didn’t really recognise anymore. It’s good to be in this position. I definitely don’t need those things anymore. The party’s over.”

Fame and fortune is really not all it’s cracked up to be.
